James
I know it's far from deserving, but is there any chance 50 Shades wins the year? People would lose it and I'm so here for that
Fullbuster
I know it's far from deserving, but is there any chance 50 Shades wins the year? People would lose it and I'm so here for that No, the success of Captain America 2, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 (and GOTG) proved there is a very strong demand for Marvel products and The Avengers is the biggest movie in Brazil after Titanic. It will be so huge there is no chance, sorry. However 50 Shades will be big enough to create some excitement here.

Mockingjay Raphael
I disagree, Angelina Jolie never was big in Brazil before, what would people suddenly go in theaters to see her? So Cinderella should be fine. Let's see next year Edited December 30, 2014 by Raphael Potter

Fullbuster
Will BOFA make it to $20m? It's possible but that won't be easy the previous movies grossed $17m it will beat this quite easily.
Fullbuster
What do you expect for TA? I can't make up my mind about this. Given the growing popularity of the franchise it should beat The Avengers ($64m) but the market growth has slowed and the exchange rate is unfavorable (local currency = -12% against the US dollar this year) so that won't be easy at all. I personally hope it can beat it, it clearly can do it, but in the worst case it could end up slightly lower. That will be very tense to follow its run and it will be very important because Brazil is Avengers' third biggest OS market after China and the UK.

James
Not sure, for this kind of audience 3D can be off-puting Nah. Honestly, it would be one of the very few movies that needs 3D
Fullbuster
Nah. Honestly, it would be one of the very few movies that needs 3D If you want action and unbelievable action 3D movies are a great option, and probably the only one with videogames because it's not something you can do in real time. If you want porn in 3D you just need to find a girlfriend. 50 Shades will be soft porn at best, don't expect to be shocked...

Plus, there aren't a lot of BDSM amateurs out there

Fullbuster
REVIEW OF THE YEAR (BOX OFFICE BRAZIL 2014) PART 2 : DISAPPOINTMENTS 1. The Amazing Spiderman 2 After the success of the first one in 2012 ($30m) it was quiten atural to expect more from this movie, and it was a better movie which pleased most of the fans. But still TASM2 just grossed $25m! While it's not a bad number at all it had a much bigger potential, I personally expected more from it, something like $35m. That doesn't change the fact I loved the movie, can't wait for TASM3 which could be able to have a real breakthrough given it will be the final movie of the trilogy. 2. The Expendables 3 The Expendables 2 grossed $16.4m in 2012 but The Expendables just grossed $10.8m in 2014..A dramatic fall signaling the end of the impressive growth of this franxhise. I ignore what caused this (piracy?) but it's pretty impressive. 3. Rio 2 In 2011 Rio was a great surprise and grossed $33m, Rio 2 had the potential to become the highest-grossing movie of the year but in the end it grossed less than the first one, it's always disappointing in this kind of fast-growing market. Fullbuster
This artwork for The Avengers 2 is so cool -------------------------- And the French animated movie Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince), adapted from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's book will be released in Brazil in October 2015 It's something important to me, I read the book as a kid and it's such a nice history, typically French, we even had it on Franc notes (the Franc was our currency before the adoption of the Euro currency) : A pic from the movie : TRAILER :
