Brazil Box Office Thread

Annabelle is the biggest WB movie in 2014:

With the latest box office numbers, collected and recorded at B Movie Box Office until last Tuesday, November 18, Annabelle became the most successful film of Warner in Brazil in 2014. The accumulated income went into the house of R $ 40.7 million, well above the R $ 40.5 million that 300: The rise of the Empire ended career. The last few months have not been easy for the distributor, one of two majors without any film in the top 10 of the year -

Annabelle came at a good time to improve the situation. The film is already the 13th highest grossing film of 2014 in the country and is sure to go up at least one position, surpassing the Ninja Turtles (Paramount), which had a total income of $ 43.5 million. The expectation is to be able to beat Frozen (Disney), current 11, with R $ 47.4 million. Reach the top 10 is more difficult as the tenth placed, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Sony) have $ 55.2 million, and Annabelle, after the fifth weekend in theaters, finally passed have the sharpest decline (47%).

Before reaching the current brand, Annabelle had become the highest income of a horror movie in the country in decades, just surpassing the long of which is derived, The Conjuring, which grossed US $ 17.4 million in 2013. There no record of a long horror with similar performance in Brazil since the box office data began to be collected regularly in the 1990s - and, as regards the public, there is reason to believe that the doll is only surpassed by the same phenomenon The exorcist, that attracted more than eight million people to theaters in the 1970s.

gosh, people can be so dense sometimes.  -_-

We had some posters here saying that they saw the movie on Wednesday midnight, it is known the wide released happened on Wednesday.

It was a 5 day release, deal with it.

Indeed, it was a 5-day OW, absolutely no doubts about that, it's the official release date.

New article on FilmeB about the limit of screens for each release. It's actually their opinion about it.

The decisive reunion with Ancine will be tomorrow.

It's very bad, government agencies should leave theaters alone, let the market decide what is best for them and their customers.

It's not like I can do something about it.:lol:

I know, I'm just tired of these useless bureaucrats thinking they can decide for all of us because we're not able to think "properly"

The problem in Brazil is the lack of screens, nothing else. More theaters, more screens, and every movie will have more screens -> everyone is wining.

Given the Brazilian population and the potential of growth there is a supply issue.

" Tudo dependerá do que for deliberado pela Ancine após ouvir o máximo de pessoas do setor e consultar as leis de regulações de outros países, principalmente da França, que é o berço da regulação cinematográfica no mundo." it makes me laugh
