Fullbuster
La La Land reached 373,000 admissions in its OW by taking previews into account. Let's hope it can reach 1m admissions, given its limited number of screens that would be great! Fullbuster
With 185 million admissions in 2016 Brazil got more admissions than Japan (180m). 200m admissions could be reached this year with some luck and for sure in 2018. Brazil should pass France in 2019. A market that will be very important for Hollywood from now on even when the ER is not helpful.

Fullbuster
Assassin's Creed fell by slightly less than 50% to reach 1,612,000 admissions. 2 million admissions is a lock and that's pretty good, slightly better than my expectations. Fullbuster
Passengers will reach 1.3 million admissions in Brazil and won't go further. A bit disappointing in the end but I expected it.
Fullbuster
Moana was number one in admissions this week with 210,000 admissions for a total of 3,624,000. 4 million admissions is a lock, great

Mockingjay Raphael
Fifty Shades Darker's pre sales are doing quite well in my city, it is obviously going to drop, but there's still enough interest to it be one of the biggest movies of year. Fullbuster
Moana is at $16m, it will beat Pets ($19m) so that's pretty cool given Pets had zero competition for 2 months

MrHardapple
Did Hacksaw Ridge open in Brazil yesterday (imdb shows Jan.26 as release date)?

It's available indeed. We'll know if it's doing well or not later this day but I'm warning you not to expect it to do well because movies about the WW2 never do well in Brazil. And there is competition.
chrisman0606
But didn't Captain America The First Avenger that involves WWII do well 6 years ago?

Brazilians love comic book movies, they were interested in Captain America, not the WW2.
Fullbuster
Top 5 Thursday : RE6 seems to be starting well, Moana is still amazingly strong, same thing for the local movie and La La Land is surprisingly still there despite a low number of screens meaning it has great legs Hacksaw Ridge is not in this top 5.
Fullbuster
I expect RE6 to get $3-4m OW.
