Fullbuster
$25.5m OW for TA2 then I expected $25m so I was right Biggest OW EVER Far ahead of TA1 ($17m OW) Edited May 3, 2015 by Fullbuster
Fullbuster
I guess that means 9m+ admissions OW?
Purple Minion
A new record! The numbers un pesos should be massive. Although jt looks Sat/Sun grossed less than Thu/Fri, it'll be interesting to see how it holds. Admissions should be on the 8M vicinity. In only one weekend, Mexico became the 5th OS market.

Purple Minion
New cum for FF7 is US$50.5M so a US$1M weekend. Don't think it'll reach 55 unless exchange rate goes below 15. So what's the limit for TA2? Using TT7 multiplier adds up to US$60M....

Purple Minion
It should, in theory, hope it doesn't get affected by the front-loaded blockbuster phenomenon. We'll know more once the actual OW/week numbers are out this Friday. Top 10 BoxOffice - Weekend 1-3 May 1. Avengers 2 2. FF7 3. Paul Blart 2 4. Home 5. Run All Night 6. Mortdecai 7. Longest Trip 8. La Sal de la Tierra 9. Guardianes de Oz 10. 5 to 7 Edited May 4, 2015 by Palomito de Maiz
Hernan Gonzalez
Age of Ultron OW (4 days) $25.75m (using OD exchange rate), 7.22m admissions, according to Canacine Edited May 4, 2015 by Henry The Last Avenger
Purple Minion
Thanks Henry. Do reports usually use the exchange rate from OD? With a 15.3 rate: TA2 Opening Thu Gross: MX$102,621,521 --> US$6.7M Audience: 1,915,472 Fri-Sun Gross: MX$288,827,214 --> US$18.9M Aud: 5,282,326 Total Gross: MX$392,747,582 --> US$25.6M Aud: 7,220,522 FF2 Total Gross:$761,048,095 --> US$49.7M (!) Weekend was just 600K, TA2 literally obliterated it from the theatres... Aud: 15,073,308 Other milestones: Home reaches 4M audience - 4,013,040 - and $US11.4M. Run All Night reaches 1M audience - 1,054,660 - and $US3.4M Edited May 4, 2015 by Palomito de Maiz

Infernus
I don't think this is gonna have a multiplier higher than 3. Infact 2.8-2.9 is the most I think its getting. There hasn't been enough growth in the market for this to beat the previous record by 31% (46.5% when factoring the drop in exchange value since 2012) and reach even 80m let alone 90m. I am seeing 75m as the roof for this right now. Edited May 5, 2015 by Infernus
Purple Minion
Yeah, I think US$75M would be a great result. This from BoxOfficeMexico, although they like to round up numbers: Los @Avengers pintan para convertirse en los primeros en superar los 1000 millones de pesos en taquilla mexicana. Quick translation: Avengers on track to become first movie to reach MX$1.000M in the Mexican box office. That's about US$65M at e.r=15.3.
