You did'nt have the controversy with Great Mouse Detective, though.

Odd thing is I think Lloyd Alexanders Prydian novels, could make a really good film series. Still sad Disney screwed it up so badly.

The documentary "Awakining Sleeping Beauty" on the Disney Animatation renainssence, shows a clip fomr a promotional film for Cauldron showing the producer holding all five novels and saying "OUt biggest problem was fitting all these into one movie"

Shows how clueless managment at Disney animatation was at that moment.

Well, as far as I'm aware, awareness regarding animation studios' work environment wasn't as big as it's now back then. I know that there was that animator strike back in 1941, but still.

And even then, there are some eerily noticeable similarities between the two in ways that they were both fueled by anxiety on a studio level to a point where even leadership position was going through panic + anxiety at the time.

So with this article, who is the real director of IO2? It looked like Pete Doctor involvement is way more substantial that the headline suggests.

I am glad the final product is great. IO2 is the best Pixar sequel outside of Toy Story franchise. I would even call it has the better third act compared to the original IO.

Doesn't read like he's more involved than Lasseter was during his time, or Lee on WDAS projects.

I did enjoy this very much, it's not far off from the first one (at times it goes even wilder in creativity and it is hilarious, with some complex ideas thrown in there). Couldn't help but feel Turning Red is a better take on very similar themes though.
