What type of engagement does the trailer have on IG/Tik Tok? It's below 4M views on their main YT with 74K likes and 130K dislikes as of this moment (22 hours).
I'd argue with Civil War likely getting to $70M+ and Challengers possibly $40M+, these movies are pulling bigger numbers and audiences theatrically vs comparable film twitter faves/discourse films. Obviously, this doesn't move Challengers out of the red, but I do think it's somewhat of a measure of success.
Monkey Man looks like the best superhero film of the year. I do think it will make the most money out of all April releases. I honestly don't think Civil War is gonna do very well compared to its budget, but we'll see. Hearing Challengers is great and I think it will do well for what type of film it is, but even that is probably something like $30-40 million.
Damn, I knew this film was probably gonna showcase that the MonsterVerse is alive and get it closer to Godzilla 2014 numbers, but I did not expect that it was actually gonna come that close? This may be the 2nd film in the franchise to crack $200M dom. Even with the drop in China, this is probably also gonna challenge Skull Island worldwide. Gonna outlive the DCEU for sure now.
