THE WILD ROBOT | 09.27.2024 | Universal | Chris Sanders to direct | official trailer 2 on page 7

I want to go in the tracking thread and ask how this one is looking now that promo for ticket sales seems to be ramping up, I got several notifications over the last few days about tickets being on sale. But I don't want to wade into whatever conversation is inevitably happening about Joker lol.

Just bought Dolby tickets for me my sister and niece. I am a little annoyed that I have to go there for premium screens and can't go to Cinemark for XD since I have a lot of points on hand that would've made it way cheaper since it's not just me. Hopefully they add XD screens for it as we get closer.

Last I was aware it was pacing just off KFP4, 30% of Inside Out 2. I live in the normie midwest where people don't typically buy kids movie tickets well in advance so my theaters aren't very useful here

I did check my locals and a lot of the premium formats at AMC have seats sold so that's good I think? I don't know if that's just showing that there's more interest from older animation heads vs families or anything though. Not experienced in ticket tracking specifically, I'm a lot better at extrapolations for final gross and stuff like that.

It'll be interesting to see what more critics and the general audience views this movie given some critiques I've seen for this.

Biggest critiques I've seen so far from early impressions are that the story is predictable, basic, or simple. Though, a lot of people seem to have been won over by the story. There was also an occasional critique about the climax of the film being too chaotic and that the first half does start off a little slow.

That's all stuff that's been said about How to Train Your Dragon too. Letterboxd still maintaining a strong average in the 4.2-4.3 range. Definitely seems like a family crowdpleaser

Fair enough, I liked that film.

There may be some things the book does better and things the movie does better. Like all adaptations.

I don't expect the movie to be as simple because the book is written very simply so far. I could probably finish it in 30 minutes.

Tomatometer up, 100%/8.3 with 20 in

The Wild Robot | Rotten Tomatoes

Does imply that they don't expect this to make $120mil, though they can be wrong and I'm not complaining about the 100% going up earlier

Honestly kinda hoping some bad reviews kick in and out it at like, a 96 or 97 or something. Ik the movie is like, super good, but a full 100% is gonna make some people feel as though somethings not totally right.

or maybe I’m just paranoid

Baby, it's 20 reviews. It's probably gonna go down in a few days anyways.

ik but if I wasn’t like, aware of the movie I’d still be paranoid af

then again I routinely spend 250 dollars on cans of soup at the start of every year because I’m paranoid about nuclear war so I’m probably not the best person to listen too on paranoia
