Their 2019 SDCC (just after Endgame and Far From Home) was maybe the most substantial and momentous presser ever. They tried to one-up it in 2022 by announcing Phase 4 AND 5 slates, two Avengers films, and a boatload of bloat. It was uninspiring, and I immediately felt Feige (or Chapek?) was flying too close to the sun. The strikes gave them an excuse to sit out last year, but Marvel would not have had a great Hall H presentation. I’m hoping today is not too granular. Sell us on Cap 4, F4, Thunderbolts, and Agatha. Give us one big casting announcement (Doom probs), confirm Russo’s for the next Avengers movie (don’t even bother with a name or whether it’s two films), Don’t bother with long term plans.
