forg
^ Nope. Animation. In Japanese with English Subtitles. One Piece Z is also coming this May 1. Both SM Exclusive. It's good that there's a local distributor releasing anime films, not an anime fan but I know a lot are and the fanbase is loyal and passionate so they will probably earn good enough
Sam
So with that gross, would you say that JTGS is a hit in The Philippines?

kayumanggi
So with that gross, would you say that JTGS is a hit in The Philippines? No doubt. The Philippines is probably the only country where this is number one for quite some time in the yearly chart.
Sam
No doubt. The Philippines is probably the only country where this is number one for quite some time in the yearly chart. Good for the movie then, at least it's not flopping everywhere I have noticed by going through this thread that The Philippines box office has been growing along healthily, it's really great when both Hollywood movies and local movies are successful in your country I'm hoping that IM3 will do good business here, $8M seems like a reasonable prediction for it, right? Anything above that and I'll be a very happy fan Edited April 6, 2013 by Sam
forg
Iron Man 3 will definitely be a box office hit and unless something surprises is lock for #1 for the year. Yeah the box office has been great lately despite higher ticket prices. I really love seeing long lines at the theaters

Moviegoing IMO is still the number one form of entertainment for the family. IRON MAN lll might make 10 M or more.

THG: CATCHING FIRE could also do very well. Maybe 6 M?
forg
I'm happy too. The economy has improved a lot. The middle class is growing. Moviegoing IMO is still the number one form of entertainment for the family. Friends and lovers as well When we watched It Takes a Man and a Woman there's a variety of audience from families to groups of friends to couples. The office crowd is a good demo to reach movie as well. Sure downloading is still prevalent but it doesn't have a big impact compared when pirated DVDs were popular before (there's still piracy but it kinda slowed down these days)

First THG movie sort of underwhelmed but it will grow with the second movie but I'm thinking 5M, i don't think it will reach Twilight level just yet. forg
Star Cinema reported that It Takes a Man and Woman already grossed 200 million pesos in 8 days (March 30-April 6) so that's around $5 million already. BOM number will be lower for sure but that's very impressive. And with Iron Man 3 coming in 2 weeks, April's box office will be huge Edited April 8, 2013 by forg

You really think it can do it? Well, you guys are the experts, so in forg and kayumanggi I trust It would be really great if IM3 can gross big like that Glad to hear that your country's economy and generally living quality is improving and growing. Some of that must be attributed to Manny Pacquiao's Congressman-ship, right? Kidding aside, the guy is a legend, I'm a big fan. He's a true sportsman, I really love his style and personality

It's just unfortunate he got excited and lost focus during the Marquez fight and was knocked down HARD. He should stop fighting IMO. Wait, are you American?
