This is just a load of nonsense. I know its supposed to be absurdist, but this is just messy, poorly done and never as funny or clever as it should be. It reminded me of an overly budgeted, overtly ambitious student film or a short movie you'd see on YouTube,  but stretched to a 100 minutes. I'd heard a lot of great things about John Dies at The End but I was disappointed.

John Dies At The End... Somewhere over the between Southland Tales and Naked Lunch. It's bullshit bit it's good bullshit.

 

Not unlike Eyes Wide Shut, Schizopolis, Brazil, Season Of The Witch. Just, you know, not as good as any of 'em. Well, better than Southland Tales though. Now, that would make for s grueling triple feature. Southland Tales, John Dies At The End and Naked Lunch.
