  1. I'm not questioning anyone's knowledge, but math is math. In the simplest form, if you only have one screen that seats 100 people, and you have a movie that plays 90 minutes, and sells 75 tickets per showing, theres not a scenario where you should ever replace it with a 3 hour movie. I know that's not exactly what we are looking at here, but it's the point I was trying to make.
  2. But they can just about play those movies twice for every one time that EG plays. Unless EG showings are double attendance or more to what DP showings are, it makes more sense to put the shorter movie in.
  3. Double, cause the first one screwed up... But Universal bought 400+ acres next to the Orlando Convention Center. The assumption is that the will build another resort there with a new park, hotels and Citiwalk. Nothing has been announced though.
  4. Universal bought 400+ acres in Orlando right next to the convention center. The logical thought is that they are going to build a new resort there with a third park, hotels and Citiwalk.
  5. I wouldn't put it at 0%. Newt did go to Hogwarts and certainly learned a lot of what he knows about the beasts there and in the Forbidden Forest. Many Beast live there. We don't yet know where Newt ends up. He could be currently living in the forest alive or in ghost form for all we know. It's not a stretch to think the next movie would have scenes in the Forbidden Forest, so a FB attraction set in the Forest on the current DC location is not unreasonable. I do however agree that they'll hold it for the new park.
  6. Sorry if this is in the wrong place or has been brought up before. I did a quick search and didn't really see anything that fit the question I had. I am going to be in LA a week or so after Fantastic Beasts opens up, and, if I haven't seen it already, may want to catch it while I'm there. I've never been to LA, and, if I'm going to take the time to watch the movie there, I'd like to watch it somewhere unique. I'd like IMAX or other large format. Reserved seating is probably a must as I really don't want to have to get there real early to get center theater. We have theaters around here that do the food and drinks at your seat, so, thats a plus, but nothing I haven't seen before. I'll be staying near Universal, so convenience may dictate that I see it there, but I'll have a car, so I can get around if need be. In researching, Chinese theater, Arclight, and Ipic seem the most interesting, but I figure I'd ask the experts to see which is the best or if there is another that I should consider instead.
  7. Sooo, If there are no delays and no one flinches, that puts Star Wars a week before Avatar. How badly do they hurt each other? and yes I expect Avatar to get delayed, I'm just saying if both were to release on schedule.
  8. Went and saw it a second time today. Took Mom to an IMAX 3D 12:30 showing. About 80% full. Didn't think the 3d really added anything to it, but loved watching on an IMAX screen. Mom is 60 and has seen all the Star Wars, most in theaters. Her first reaction at credits: Well that Sucked! She didn't like Han dying and was mad that Luke was barely in it and didn't say anything. We talked about the movie the whole way home and who was Rey's parents and alot of the stuff that everyone is debating on here. By the time we got home she was asking when we could go see it again. lol
  9. The first death star got taken out by just a single X-Wing. The second was pretty much the same once the shields were down. It seems to be a pattern.
  10. Yeah Its not a regional thing. I just didn't know how common the early closing was nationwide. That theatrer is inside a shopping complex, so I'd assume that's why they are closed that early.
  11. Our local big IMAX theater has no showings today after 5 pm. This isn't sell outs, they are just closing early. How prevalent are early closings on Christmas and how much will that affect today's gross?
  12. Apple did 231 billion in revenue last year and something like $50 billion in profit. 10% of that is pretty strong. Chrysler isn't doing close to those numbers.
