I'd say it's one of the better Pokemon movies. The visuals are good, the villains are decent, the soundtrack is great (probably my favourite from any Pokemon Movie (except maybe Movie 8)) and it was a ballsy move to keep Latios dead at the end.

 

That being said, like almost all the Pokemon movies, this movie is inevitably bogged down by Ash&co being so incredibly bland and uninteresting to the point of irritation. And it's a complete lockout for anyone who doesn't play/know Pokemon.

 

As a Pokemon movie, I'd give it a B+. As an actual film, I'd give it a C

Meh, one of the worst Pokemon films in my opinion.
