Carnivore is meat eater. Not animal killer. EATER is the key idea
So, what's your point. Cleary the audience can't tell the difference because when an herbivore dinosaur kills an animal, the assumption is it did so to eat it. I am guessing not just me, but many, many audience members thought the same exact thing. Until this thread, I had no idea it wasn't a meat eater. I feel pretty confident I am not the only person to take this away from the movie.

The dino killing the deer also made me think it was a carnivore. I am sure most people came away thinking the same.

Interesting, to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if the add an additional end credit with Morbius saying It's Morbin Time. I'm actually being serious here.

So, WBs options
Drop on HBO MAX. They would pretty much lose what they spent making the movie, so $200-$250M
Reshoot Ezra's scenes. So, probably another $100M
Digitally alter Ezra. Maybe less than reshooting, but still expensive.
Do nothing. No upfront cost, but if Ezra is in the news when this hits can cause serious backlash and revenue loss for WB.
So, no matter what, WB is in a losing position.

You know, I am actually starting to turn around on this. I felt initially interest wasn't there for this, but now I am feeling a $150-$180M OW. Not sure what legs look like, but with Christmas, you never know.

So next week is Lightyear. That makes me think this will probably have a steepish drop. Honestly, I think this opens similar to FK and finishes almost identically, at least DOM.
I actually liked this one, but I guess bringing back the old cast isn't really a selling point. It was pretty much always about the dinos. Anyway, Jurassic movies for the most part have been a mixed bag, but it is not the worse by any stretch.

I liked the third episode for the duel, but this episode just wasn't good. It was on par with the first couple of Boba Fett episodes, probably worse. If this didn't have McGregor, I would consider this almost ST levels bad. Hopefully, the next two pick up. Also, there's rumors this is going to get a second season. I guess with the viewing numbers that seems likely, so I hope this really finds it footing because Obi-Wan is a really interesting character, but this story just isn't that good.

Every day, some crazy thing comes up about Ezra. There is a lot of chatter about the whole grooming thing. There wasn't much talk about the other allegations, but grooming a child is not in a position WB wants to be in.

I saw this in Dolby st 7:30 in a relatively busy theater, and it wasn't even half full. TGM was at 100% capacity when I saw it opening Thursday night. Yah, this doesn't bode well

Holy shit on the drop. I didn't think WOM was this good. So, this has a shot at $450m. Is $500m on the table?

reshoots happen all the time. if the role isn't too big like a weeks worth of shooting, recasting shouldn't be much of an issue and shouldn't cause the budget to go up much either.

I remember a time when trailers and ads never mentioned RT score and that was when RT was popular. Then, one day, it clicked with studios and now they go full RT score in ads when the RT score is good.

Surprise, surprise. No one went to see this.
Wait, so does he say "it's Morbin time" in the movie. I seriously can't remember anything from that movie.
-
Wait. This expanded today. Don't theaters realize the people making the memes have no intention or want of seeing this?
-
Either they recast or cut her scenes if they are small enough.

I am guy that was in an abusive relationship with a woman. Ironically, she once threw dog poop at me. It does happen. I do think Heard is a narcissist, and yes Depp has his part to play as well, but I'm glad society is taking a look at this issue of women abusing men

That whole article really comes off as sour grapes whining. You can absolutely make brutal, desolate movies that make a ton of money that the public will support in theaters. The Revenant is an example of that.
You better have the perfect release date, marketing, story, star and awards season push. The Revenant made almost $600m world wide. The difference is it was starring an A-List actor and had a story that connected completely with a wide audience despite being brutal and desolate. Iñárritu isn't exactly the most accessable or entertaining director either, but he knocked it out of the park.
The Daniels also figured out how to go from weird indie directors that came up with a Harry Potter farting coarpse to truly entertaining with Everything, Everywhere.
Again, I fucking LOVE Eggers, but his style and films have a limited audience. I know he doesn't want to play the studio game, but get fucking used to it dude. Guys more talented than him have figured out how to deliver a money maker to keep the bosses happy so they could make 2 other movies they were passionate about. Welcome to Hollywood. If you don't like it, stick to indie film budgets and releases.
Yup. The studios pay to have the movie made. I guess the other option become rich enough to self fund your own movies. I think a lot of people forget Lucas funded the prequels 100% out of his pocket. I know SW is mainstream though, but point is Lucas did what he wanted with the prequels.

In regards to late sequels (or remakes), you have to factor in the nostalgia gap, essentially one generation or roughly 25 years. That's when enough time has passed where people who recall content they enjoyed when they were kids/teens/young adults are now at a place in their life where they will indulge it again, take their own kids, remember their youth, whatever. And yes TG2 is a 36 year gap, but look at the age/demo breakdown and image how it would look had it come out 10 years ago instead
Here are some recent releases (off top of my head) and the gap from the original:
Jurassic Park --> World = 32y
22 year gap for JP and JW not 32.

I thought it was okay, mostly a retread of the original Top Gun

So, is Men worth seeing or not. The trailer looked interesting. I'm not really into horror, but will sometimes watch interesting horror films

I'm guessing they will reshoot her scenes with another actress.

So, almost identical opening to FK. I guess that's okay all things considered. Now, let's see how it holds up.
