yeah people are being too negative. and I think it has to do with the fact that it's Dc/female led. This is a huge success and win for WB/DC and I'm sure the legs will be great.

ok but let's not let this be a negative thread. This is still a HUGE number. And it will be treated positively in the media. A 90-95 million OW is not bad lol. Just need to add perspective lol.

yeah I def think this is the case If BVS was a well received movie WW would have had a higher opening. I think it will have good legs.

I'm a little surprised by these numbers to be honest. I was sure that since WW was already a very famous character and a female super hero film being very anticipated and the great reviews this would preform easily above 100 million OW. Maybe DC's poor reputation hurt this?

Why would this have a better multiplier than GOTG can someone explain maybe I'm mis understanding but GOTG was an unknown property? Sure it had great marketing but it was less known WW is a very well known character and was also in BVS already. So this should have around the same multiplier right? Does it opening in June instead of August make that much of a difference? Or is it because of the NBA finals?

GOTG is probably the best comparison but that was a pretty unknown property compared to WW so WW legs might be a little less...but then again WW is more female skewing

this film ended up doing pretty well in the long run. 188 million WW. If the dog controversy never happened it probably would have made over 200 million WW and done a lot better domestically. -
I don't know if it's just me but I think this Summer in general might have a middling/mediocre box-office. The only thing I think might surprised is maybe Wonder Woman? I'm kinda curious what the breakdown of the audience was for Everything Everything.

lol there's nothing liberal at all about it. By conservative I meant she only watches Christian movies or Nigerian movies she would be completely put off by the story line of a mother not knowing the identity of her daughters father because she slept with them all around the same time haha. I forget why I even went to see it with her lol. She loved it though.

I remember watching this with my grandmother (who is pretty conservative) for god knows what reason (I think it was her birthday or something?) and she said she loved it but she didn't understand the plot line. She thought the mom was just pretending she didn't know who her father was and that she knew it was pierce Brosnan's character all along lol.
