I think the "OMG she has the audacity to shoot a bow and arrow" stuff was being overplayed. It was still there in this one but not as much. I'm not a big fan of animated films but even I thought the last 40 seconds was pretty much perfect.
I don't think studios care about this sort of stuff as much as we do. If it's really close they might push it but otherwise they will probably leave it be.
It doesn't have a Potter sized fanbase but it is more accessible to general audiences which is why LOTR made the numbers it did along with their quality of course.
