  1. Yep. We've had an amazing week on BFG. It's really connected with our local audience. 2nd biggest opening week of the year for us
  2. maybe we're overperforming with it. it is perfect for our local demographics
  3. Any figures for BFG? We're having a really good weekend with it, somewhere between Zootropolis and Jungle Book for us. If that translates nationwide it should be about 6 or 7 million
  4. yeah pretty crazy that.. we've been being told 12a (tbc) for months
  5. The distributor for BFG is expecting huge numbers - between £30m and £40m total. they told me it will do 'Paddington levels of business'. I'm not convinced but I'd love to be wrong! Prebookings are looking ok at my place, nothing great though
  6. Why are BOM reporting it as a "record opening for an original animated property". what non-animated original films have opened bigger?
  7. Pets £3.7m Tarzan £3.55m Now You See Me £2.8m AbFab £2.6m decent weekend again
  8. Pets has had a very small drop again here. Ice Age about the same as last weekend. AbFab holding up fairly well.
  9. Ice Age did nothing btw.. very disappointing. About 15% of Pets
  10. Ab Fab has been packed here, but Pets has done even more. Up on last Friday & Saturday.
  11. no-one interested in the box office this week?? top 5: UK TOP FIVE Ranking Film/Distributor Weekend gross Running total 1 Warcraft: The Beginning (Universal) $5.23m (£3.62m) $5.23m (£3.62m) 2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows (Paramount) $5.05m (£3.5m) $5.05m (£3.5m) 3 Me Before You (WB) $2.57m (£1.78m) $2.57m (£1.78m) 4 Alice Through The Looking Glass (Disney) $2m (£1.35m) $10.1m (£7m) 5 X-Men: Apocalypse (Fox) $1.8m (£1.25m) $22.9m (£15.85m) pretty boring weekend really.. too much competition for anything to do great
  12. £2.1m in two days (Wednesday & Thursday). DOFP did £1.6m from a Thursday preview.
  13. yeah we had an email about it on tuesday
  14. Good holds this weekend.. Jungle Book might actually increase at my place. Angry Birds is doing OK, better than I expected.
  15. Ranking Film/Distributor Weekend gross Running total 1 Captain America: Civil War (Disney) $6.9m (£4.8m) $39.4m (£27.4m) 2 The Jungle Book (Disney) $3m (£2.1m) $53m (£36.8m) 3 Bad Neighbours 2 (Universal) $2.4m (£1.69m) $2.4m (£1.69m) 4 Florence Foster Jenkins (Fox) $1m (£710,741) $1m (£710,741) 5 Robinson Crusoe (Studiocanal) $831,000 (£575,321) $831,000 (£575,321)
  16. Florence Foster Jenkins is bombing. under £1m I'd predict.
  17. yeah BFG will be HUGE here if the reviews are solid.
  18. Ended up about 10% off AoU's opening Friday at my place
  19. We're looking like being a fair bit down on AoU's opening unless walkups are huge. I enjoyed the film but thought the first hour really dragged. also found it quite confusing in places - probably should have watched The Winter Soldier again
  20. Rentrak are actually starting to ask for admissions reported alongside £s from this week, although we've been told that we don't have to give this information if we don't want to. Jungle Book is absolutely huge here.. easily biggest Saturday this year for us.
  21. Yeah we're looking packed with Jungle book this evening and all weekend, think it will be massive in the UK. Paddington a target maybe?
  22. Batman is dropping HARD here. Zoo has over taken it since Monday. Looks like doubling it today.
