there were 91,000 orange wednesday tickets issued for The Inbetweeners on Wednesday. That's about £500k worth.
always seems crazy to me that they release these huge films on Wednesdays when they give away so much
yeah we are (unsurprisingly) sold out.
very similar to the first one here which contrary to what someone posted ahead, I didn't feel a lot of hype for until like 2 days before.
in the weeks up to it we were umming and arring about how it would do, and whether to even play it at all at one point!
hindsight is a great thing, but the first film was never a sure fire hit - tv spin offs rarely are.
so what i alluded to earlier about previews is basically that a lot of time it is to do with not opening officially before the US because if the distributor does have an official friday opening which is before the US then they have to pay a fortune in extra print security fees (basically making sure the hard drives are kept under lock and key every step of the way from distributor to exhibitor).
if they call it previews (even if it is 6 days worth as we have seen!) then they don't have to pay this, but still have the kudos of it being 'UK First'.
so it is all to do with money really.
RTH said yesterday it was 75% of the MBB number.
we were packed with it today. busier that yesterday (probably because it rained all day).
i'd estimate at least £2m for the weekend?
