  1. i'm not feeling a whole lot of buzz for monsters university here.. very low advance bookings as well. hope it's more of a walkup film
  2. box office could be affected by the tennis today.. real chance for the first british Wimbledon winner for about 70 years!
  3. has anyone got any figures for what Now You See Me has done on the previews? Been pretty disappointing here really..
  4. pretty good monday for us on despicable me.. obviously nothing like the weekend but very good for an animated film i think
  5. we're down a fair bit today on Despicable Me.. it is very sunny here though so maybe that's the reason. it's still busy, but nothing like the madness of yesterday. it's more like what I would have expected for both days prior to release.
  6. it'll be interesting to see if it follows the same kind of pattern in the US
  7. yeah I've never known anything like it.
  8. it is HUGE here. bigger than skyfall's Saturday (or any day) at my cinema
  9. weird weekend for us.. sunday was busier than saturday which almost never happens. WWZ actually took more than MOS today for us, but for the weekend MOS was about 35% higher. Despicable Me won today here though and wasn't far off MOS for the weekend with one day less.
  10. Man Of Steel had a massive day here.. only down about 5% on last Saturday actually. WWZ has barely improved over yesterday
  11. we've only been able to fit in one show of Despicable Me today but it was packed. should have a big 5 day opening
  12. we're pleased with World War Z today.. done a bit more than Man Of Steel has. Man Of Steel is down over 50% on last Friday which isn't really surprising. I think Man Of Steel will probably win the weekend as it will have stronger afternoon business tomorrow and Sunday.
  13. good day for us on Man Of Steel - about neck and neck with Iron Man 3's opening Friday. that did have Thursday as well though to soften the opening day a little bit. After Earth has collapsed. Behind The Candelabra pretty good.
  14. it only had a limited release this week (120 cinemas) but i'd be interested to see the per screen average.. we're getting loads of requests for it. after earth has been really quiet unsurprisingly.
  15. massive week for us our biggest week since skyfall opened. and we didn't even have the number 1 film!
  16. Epic has been massive for us today. over double the last few days
  17. the top 4 alone add up to $213m. how does the top 10 rate alongside the biggest weekends ever?
  18. the premier for World War Z is pretty early in June so hopefully that means that Paramount are confident it will get decent word of mouth
  19. epic (since release), f&f (starts tomorrow), gatsby (since release) and star trek (since release) for the week starting tomorrow. had to push the hangover back to the 31st here, so we'll have had that and F&F a week late just because there is so much out at the moment. then we're back on release with all the major films through june - after earth, superman, WWZ and despicable me. what does everyone think pacific rim is going to do over here? it's going up against monsters U which seems brave
  20. we were busy on Epic last weekend.. it did about 80% of the business we did on The Croods previews on far fewer shows due to competition
  21. we've been busy today and yesterday with Great Gatsby. bookings are looking strong for tomorrow on it as well
  22. our wednesday was 50% higher than tuesday
  23. i think Monsters U will win the year.. the first one did £37m 10 years ago with a February release. The new one should at least match that with the main summer holiday
