Wow! you honestly think 50 million is locked, I heard that if MOS is being released on 20/7 it will have to go up against some pretty heavy competition (including a local legend like Li Lian Je). But if that were to happen then it would be a huge jump from SR (made about 8 million) and would really help my prediction that the film could do about 270-300 million OS. Just out of curiosity, what is the "taste" of the chinese people?

I hope you're right Sam, I honestly think a 300 million + is nothing to sneeze at, I personally would be very happy with the number. As for Brazil, I hear that the confederation cup (pre-football/soccer world cup warm up tournament) is being held in brazil around june thus the delay in release, that's just speculation though.

Wow guys I am amazed at the numbers you all r coming up with, I have this movie at 270-300 overseas but I can't see it doing more than double what SR did (191) even with nolan's name, market expansion and addition of 3D. OS audiences are usually slow with reboots but go insane with successful sequels (STID is an unfortunate exception since it was a good movie IMO). Also some of the release dates are iffy, for example its coming out in russia (a big market) on the same date that MU is and animated movies are usually BIG in russia. The film is also coming in very late to Japan and Brazil (2 of the biggest markets in asia and SA respectively). On the positive side it may be coming out in china quite soon, which may rev up the boxoffice.

Firedeep I've got 2 questions if I may, first what makes you think MOS might be the replacement for fast 6? And second do you think it can do Gi-joe 2 biz (ala 50 mil +) in China?

Firedeep do you know for a fact that MOS is being released in late Aug? or is that a prediction? 32 million for superman would be great (4X as much as SR did).

Yeah in Russia animated films usually do monster (forgive the pun) business, I honestly don't know what WB was thinking with that release date; and why release the movie so late in big markets like japan and brazil, lots of this doesn't make sense to me.

Hey everyone long time lurker first time poster; you know I honestly thought that MOS could break the 300 mil internationally, but seeing how they're releasing it in Russia on the same day as MU (suicide!) and its not being released in China until possibly September I really can't see this movie making much more than SR did. Quite a shame that WB are not utilizing the superhero craze overseas to good effect, I guess they're banking it all on the US market.
