people never forget, everyone I know remembers the film to be boring, bad or both.

Granted, that's why I expect about 270-300 million OS, which is quite a jump from 191. No franchise can simply dominate the boxoffice without having established some faith with the audience, superman was once a boxoffice titan but then came superman 3,4 and SR and superman's good name has been dragged through the mud, so I personally believe that to the general audience MOS is just another SR until proven otherwise. If MOS gets superman right, you can expect superman to kick batman out of the throne in the coming years.

Seriously its predictions like that causes mass fanboy meltdowns and disappointments! Regardless of the addition of 3D, the market expansions, Nolan's name, WB fantastic marketing etc,,,,,,its just unrealistic to expect the superman franchise to go from 191 mill OS to 600 mill, such jumps simply don't happen for reboots. I honestly believe this film will do SR numbers (with added 3D and market expansions) WW , but will hopefully stand out from its predecessor in the sense that people will like this film and will look forward to the sequel where the real money starts coming in.

Superman's fame and recognition is second to non, but that doesn't mean it's likely to translate to B.O. gold (see SR numbers). All franchises (e.g. batman) need to prove themselves before they start breaking records and the same goes for an icon like superman.

I don't expect MOS to get anywhere near the 300 domestically, 230-240 mill is the most I'm expecting, basically SR non adjusted numbers plus 3D prices. I'm honestly dreading the coming weeks when most of you will realize that you've repeated the mistake that we superman fans made back in 2006. This film aims to reignite interest not break records

Valladolid is a decent team but like most of la liga's teams - that are not called barca or madrid - they have limited resources. Well you should be happy now because Mou is leaving and will be taking his brand of -ve football with him. Tell me something, I keep reading about how the financial affairs of la liga are a mess and how the league in general seems to be going under, do you agree?

I have, but I don't think it realistic to expect a reboot to make the kind of OS numbers most people are predicting here. I simply took the 190 million OS of SR added 15% 3D and the market expansions (especially Russia and China) and came up with a 270-300 number. It's not scientific I know, but I tried to be logical about how this film will do rather than just let my fanboy hype take over. Honestly 300 million is excellent, it would mean that there is life in the franchise (which I believe it does).

300 million for me, can't see a reboot reaching 400 million + numbers! The sequel (if MOS is well liked) most definitely can.

Olive, Ironman 3 did over 60 million in SK, I really can't see MOS getting anywhere near that (as much as I would for that to happen).

Wow you expect double that of SR?! that would be awesome! If MOS does as well as some of you are predicting in china, SK and philippines it may outdo by expectations and break 300 million OS.

You know I noticed that superman is quite big in Spain, it was one of SR's biggest markets (12 million). i think 12 million would be awesome and I certainly wouldn't think it would top SR's take considering the the financial state that the country is in right now.

Both films aim to attract families and kids you know. Plus superman is coming out on the 14th in the states I really can't understand why it couldn't open in europe at the same time. For those of you who are in the know in Spain, how much do you think MOS can make?

still olivedeep, anything over 20 million is quite impressive for a reboot. How much are you predicting for MOS in korea btw? Trust me, pre-sales mean very little sometimes, I remember believing the pre-sales for SR back in 2006 and it blew up in my face, not making that mistake again. This film will make anywhere between 70-120 million, a HUGE range.

Damn it, why head to head with MU, its suicide!! Spain was one of the few places where SR did great (12 million I think) so why screw that up? The same thing is going to happen with Russia.

Dude 50 million would be HUGE (for me atleast), I'd be over the moon and to be honest a franchise reaffirming film cannot ask for any more than that. Now if only MOS can crack the 10 million mark in Russia (SR did 1 million only) then it could be it could be on its way to a 300 million OS take (fantastic for a reboot).

Otherwise Michael Bay like rubbish?? or just action extravaganza?
