I think TDKR will have trouble catching TDK's $ gross in the UK due to the exchange rate, but it should pass it in £ gross probably.
-
Thanks!Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film grossed an estimated $122.1m on approximately 17,000 screens in 57 markets through Warner Bros Pictures International. The worldwide tally stands at $537.1m.
That Rentrak table is great!Rentrak Top 12 Worldwide.

Do they have it every week?
Thanks!

We will see but it would be amazing if it beat IA3 OS total!
-
$600M OS seems locked but with lack of new markets now and Brave/Lorax releasing in many markets I am not sure if it can get to $650M-700M.
-
$47M (£30.2M) total for TDKR so far.
Rather big drop due to Olympics this weekend but should recover and have good legs.
-
ScreenDaily article please.
-
It did indeed pass $500M OS this weekend...
$511,402,000
is the new OS total!
How high can this go now...?
-
Around $122.1M OS this weekend. So does anyone know how much it made internationally this weekend?
-
$122.1M OS weekend.Olympics hit it for sure, should be small drop next weekend OS then and solid numbers during the week!

Decent weekend for TDKR, not $70M+ but still good.Come on strong legs!
-
I believe so, yes.But whats with the lc all the time?Is that local currency?
-
Olympics Opening Ceremony definitely had an impact with an audience of at least 1 billion people.Saturday and Sunday will pick up OS.I was expecting 40M Friday ...dunno what happened.
-
For sure, TDKR will easily beat TDK OS but due to lower USA gross the WW final total will be quite close to TDK I feel, but probably a tad higher.TDKR will do a lot better OS than TDK. And in the end, it should have a similar WW gross.

Thanks for the summary, all true!OS will save it for sure, as the shooting has not affected TDKR here in the UK or anywhere else in the world really at all. But then again OS is now always expected to bring in a higher % of gross as the OS markets grow and the US market shrinks. But since the shooting the % of gross from OS is going to be much higher. In hindsight we can agree on all of the following:1. Most of this board, clearly overpredicted this movie's potential and must see factor. 200m was never in the cards.2. The shooting clearly affected the run. We'll never know how much, but most can agree what turned out to be a 160m OW would have probably been a 175-180ish million haul. To say it wasn't affected is silly and fueled by Nolanite hatred and to say it was the sole purpose for its shortcomings is sily and Nolanite love.3 WOM is not on TDK or TA levels, but it's still mostly positive. Ppl saying it's mostly negative or letting their personal shit get in the way and likewise for those saying its getting better WOM then the aforementioned films.4. The movie will be saved by OS take which will ultimately allow this to still be a strong success story, despite the tragic events.5. Endless, pointless, stupid arguments will continue on these boards for decades about what could have been with no side winning.End discussion damn it!

So glad OS is doing well, hoping for some big numbers this weekend too!It needs to make up for disappointing run in the USA.
-
Yes this weekend's BO and TDKR will both be hurt by the Olympics (mainly Opening Ceremony) and have a bigger drop but TDKR will have great legs and will not be affected much until 100 metres Final, closing ceremony...etc.
-
Actually all Dr Suess films do badly OS relatively but after Horton Hears a Who did pretty well Lorax should have been higher.OS percentagesGrinch 24.7%Cat it Hat 24.5%Horton ha Who 48%Lorax 31.2%compareShrek 44.7%Madagascar 63.7%Ice Age 54%Rio 70.4%for fairness I only used 1st installments
-
True, but other Dr Seuss films did a bit better OS.It seems that Universal put no effort or thought into their OS release dates for The Lorax. In the UK, Easter was free but they shove it in between IA4 and Brave...Dr Seuss has never been that popular overseas, given that the film's in the black from the domestic release, anything it makes overseas is just gravy. Kind of dumb of Universal to have released it sandwiched between Ice Age and Brave in many markets.
-
The Lorax does not seem to be very popular OS, made a ton of $$$ in the USA though to profit.
-
It is up to $125M OS through Wednesday!THR reports TDKR has now made a total of $110mil as of Tuesday.
-
TDKR now at $33.8M in the UK!

Not sure but I think TDK had more admissions than TA because Avenger's gross is very inflated by 3D and of course natural £ inflation.Ah, that's certainly a factor too. What about admissions? 3D skews Avengers.
-
Awesome!Around $15M OS then for Wednesday!Just received an update from WB that the international total stands at $125.3 million through the end of Wednesday.
-
Definitely probable probably.500m would have happened without the shooting IMO
