  1. Moderation Note: We apologize that we weren't efficient at updating the title throughout the weekend but please remember that the staff tries its best to be here during the weekends but as everyone knows, sometimes life can get in the way. With that said, if you want to make a daily/weekend thread, please make sure you will be around to edit the title yourself. Don't just make a weekend thread for the sake of making one. You are responsible for also editing the title and keeping the updates on the first post. Thank You.
  2. Good start for Ride Along 2. NOTE: This weekend, we will be back to making an "Actuals" thread on Monday.
  3. Overlooked for best original song was “See You Again,” from “Furious 7,” which was considered by many to be a front-runner. Why? Too rap. Recorded by rapper Wiz Khalifa, the song was written in memory of the late Paul Walker. The omission shows a tin ear and lack of empathy by nominators. I’m not saying Hollywood is racist, homophobic or ageist. The town says so itself every year at Oscar time. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2016-oscar-nominations-snubbed-article-1.2496697
  4. Take the best picture race, which had room for 10 films but ended up only with eight — leaving out “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the most beloved and biggest box office winner, and “Carol,” the year’s majestic mood piece. One was too big. The other, too gay. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2016-oscar-nominations-snubbed-article-1.2496697 Star Wars was really gay?
  5. It begins... King: It's suspicious how the Academy shut out black actors, films and directors in its Oscar nominations "Hear my heart, I don't think African-Americans should be nominated because they are black — never that. However, when the voters are 94% white, 76% men, and are an average of 63 years old, issues of racism and cultural understanding aren't imaginary, but very real." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-oscar-nominations-overlook-black-actors-films-article-1.2496777
