My dreams are getting crushed.
If it makes you feel any better shows on long island are almost all sold out. In population terms we are about 4 times that of Seattle ignoring the nyc parts

Haven't seen Tele's sellout reports, but my theater was a zoo again. They cancelled 3 showings of Allegiant and gave 2 of them to BvS and one to Zootopia (poor, poor Lionsgate). IMAX, RPX and the 21+ lounge showtimes are sold out and they added more 2D showings.
drove past my theater, its in a shopping center so large parking lot overflowing full people parking in the red lobster parking lot to get space

Lex Luthor got some legit big laughs on my 2nd viewing. More than in the first.
Transformers is easily the one that comes to mind. The original trilogy, all of them were rotten, and all of them performed like beasts.
Even 4 did 2.45 legs

Domestically. In terms of overseas power, Potter destroys them both.
I agree but studios care more about domestic and so do us Americans here

Snyder Supes is as annoyingly emo as book 5 Potter?
Seriously tho, BvS might overtake HP8 as Warner's biggest opener.
It probably will real or not Warner will fudge if necessary anyway potter while massive internationally is not a top 5 franchise here

This is the first time I've heard such a ridiculous criticism against Potter. 80s?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
Ugh, hate Potter. I love that the series has attracted to so much loyalty (no matter religion or race) that it disproves your point so hugely.
Potter was never massive Dom it was big but doesn't compare to the truly massive franchises batman TA/IM Star Wars. And honestly over time the only franchises proven to consistently be at the top are batman and Star Wars

I Think it will hold flat from true Friday gross

Looking at BOM foreign section, the markets where F7 was released the same weekend than BvS this year opened to $250m and in those territories the film grossed about $700m (we have to exclude China, Japan, russia and Poland since F7 started later in those countries), so x2.8 multiplier. Considering the better reception it had and that BvS should be more frontloaded than F7, I guess that a lower multiplier for this is logical.
I'm not sure the WOM will be as negative as some people say it will be and i think they will be equally frontloaded as F7 is the seventh movie in the franchise

this needs to pass 400m to be not be considered a disappointment
Potter has the worst legs on any franchise this is getting around 170 Ow so for that in the worst case scenario it reaches 380 400 has a prettty good chance

You have to take into account that this is not an usual OW. In many markets it is quite inflated given the holidays. In Spain films use to be released on Friday, Bt this one has been released on Wednesday, being both Thursday and Friday national holidays. Drop next weekend should be huge.
It wasn't for F7 same weekend

I'm thinking a bit lower..... 625-650M.
Combined with 350-375M domestic, it will finish right around $1B mark.
only 2 x ow avegage in each territory thats a little low

Snyder said this cost less than Man of Steel. Is that believable? Man of Steel definitely had a lot more CGI but I'm sure Affleck's paycheck isn't small.
way less cgi like 80% less i can defiently see this costing less money to make

Above 350 million global for the weekend?
It will get at least 400 up to 450

If it opens to 170 potter is the worst case scenario when it comes to legs which will get it to 380
