Martin Luther King - I hope someday people will be judged by the content of their character rather than the colour of their skin.
Water Bottle - White people suck for wanting a colour blind society!
I know which train I'm aboard.

I consider it important. The question is why is my desire to see more Hispanics on the screen such a big deal that you have to make that kind of reply?
Plenty of people think things are important that I personally don't class as important.
Am I unable to voice my opinion that the number (or the lack there of) of minorities in staring roles in Hollywood is a completely ridiculous thing to be upset about? Is my position such a big deal that you have to make that kind of reply?

There are basically three certainties in life. Death, Taxes and Minorities having a teary over things that are really not that important.

It's from Scary Movie 5.
Only good thing from Scary Movie 5. The 2 train tunnels crashing is unexpected.
Well that explains why I've never seen it before.

OMG
I've said this to so many people!!!!! What the hell? I've never heard of that in my life! So now every guy that says this to me......I'm going to have to have to deliberate it in my mind what they mean.
Everything you possibly say can be construed as rude by a guy. Just accept that fact and move on.

Its not. Im stating my own opinion on Ghost Buster 2 that saw some discussion recently in the thread. How is that an unpopular opinion?
-
GhostBusters 2 is such a half hearted sequel. It's basically the same movie as the first but worse in everyway IMO.
There is enough there to make it watchable though.

Yup. But I don't like that JK has given into the Hermione/Ron haters and keeps second guessing her choice. Hermione + Ron is a good coupling. The main problem was not developing Ginny or her relationship with Harry much at all. The dissatisfaction with Ginny's characterization makes many shippers thirst for Harry/Hermione. What JK should have done was make Ginny an equally appealing and fleshed out character as the main trio. She doesn't need to regret her decision to pair Hermione with Ron. They are a cute couple and it makes sense why they would be drawn to each other. Harry/Hermione are more brother/sister anyway.

Seriously, if you flip the genders in Gravity I bet everybody would say the female character was weak simply because that character existed only to help the protagonist. And yet, I think George Clooney's character was just as compelling as Sandra Bullock's character even though he had no arc.
I've had Male Right Activists tell me that Gravity is sexist because it perpetuates the 'disposable male' stereotype.
I swear to God if a film is anything more than a camera looking at a blank wall for 2 hours, someone, somewhere will cry sexism or racism.

Could your strong male character be seamlessly replaced with a floor lamp with some useful information written on it to help a male hero?
In most cases, yes as well. Thats the purpose of supporting characters, to support the protagonist.
The real question is why are there so many male hero's in our films but very few female hero's? And I think the answer there is to do with the number of female script writers in Hollywood compared to men and a desire for male Hollywood heads to target the demographics that they know (males) then what they don't really know (females) because a few hundred million dollars is a big investment in something you don't really know.
On a side note. EOT did a really good job at a female character IMO. One of the reasons the movie was so enjoyable to me.

It's not completely meaningless because it's for my personal purposes of ranking them. Yes, I could do it with a 10-point system and one decimal place, but that's basically the same thing. I like the finesse of assigning a fractional point to things, even though it doesn't matter dramatically. (And it also makes it easier and quicker to build up Top 10 lists or whatever because there are fewer ties.)
Well its not meaningless to you if it feels you with comfort that it makes these arbitrary decisions of ranking films an easier task for you. But the same could be said for a thousand point rating system or a million point system. If I rate Shawshank Redemption 9.5644/10 and The Good, The Bad, The Ugly 9.5646/10, i can easily determine that I should place The Good, The Bad and the Ugly higher on my all time list but what does that 0.0002 difference actually mean? Absolutely nothing. That difference can easily be accounted based on a whole host of factors that have absolutely nothing to do with the films themselves.
So to end this little rant of mine, you are perfectly entitled to use your 100 point system to help you make whatever decisions you like! But please don't try to tell me that there is any meaningful distinction between a movie you rated an 84/100 and an 85/100.
