The review thread couldn't have hit 100+ pages without some people loving Nolan, and that movie pissing off a lot of people.

Lets's not get carried away.
Yeah I hear there were at least 50 movies better than TDKR in 2012

I don't know about Cat Woman bad. I think technically its a much better film if nothing else. But at least Cat Woman kept me entertained throughout the movie laughing at how incredibly shit everything was. TASM just bored me to tears and made me wish I was watching Spider-Man instead.

A truly masterful film. One of the best CBM out there and it ranks in the top 5 for me.
TDKR
Avengers
Superman 2
Spider-man 2
Captain America 2
Do we see a theme here lol?
TDKR Baumer? Freudian slip their perhaps

I have joined the dark side.
Upping my grade to 8.5/10
Here's the thread in case anyone is interested.
Holy Shit.
This is like if Jesus returned to earth and told everyone that the Buddhists have gotten it right.
I'm guessing that watching it without any of the hype surrounding the release helped you to see things differently?

Marvel movies are not trying to play chess with the audience. That's not their intention. And truth be told, if TDK is trying to play chess, it isn't very good at it. It tries to play smart, but reveals all its moves with expository dialogue and heavy-handed messages.
I never said Marvel movies were trying to play chess. Thats why I generally enjoy them, they know exactly what they are and they succeed at what they are doing. But Nolan goes beyond playing checkers and he does it as well as any big budget film director has ever done IMO.
Your tastes may vary.

I don't know how to play either Chess or Checkers
For the imbecile there is always tic-tac-toe

My personal answer is: Yes, I am getting tired of them not because I dislike comic book films, but because I'm a little tired of how repetitive they've become. Even though I think CA2 is a really good movie, I couldn't help but find the ending similar to every other ending: a big battle in the sky to protect all of the world. After a while, seeing the world's fate on the line in every movie destroys the excitement and appeal of such plots. The spectacle gets lost and instead of being part of an event, you find yourself just watching a movie.I don't see any solutions to it, other than to avoid the bad ones and only focus on the ones that critics praised.
To be fair you have just described a shitload of popcorn movies that have nothing to do with comic books. I mean maybe not a big battle in the sky to protect all of the world, but definitely a big battle in location X to protect object Y. It's what the masses want to see and until that changes this is the forumlae we are stuck with for these big budget films regardless of where they base their source material.
So to answer your question I'm not tired of comic book movies because they are comic book movies, but because big budget movies as a whole are so incredibly formulaic.

I have just seen CA2, and yeah, good film but it is certainly not in the ballpark of any of Nolan's Batmans films.
To put it simply, The TDK trilogy is playing chess while the Marvel movies are playing checkers. Now I like a good game of checkers, but it simply doesn't have the depth that chess provides.
I do give credit to the Marvel movies for creating a huge interconnecting web of movies that all link up with each other. That is quite the feat, and CA2 is perhaps the best of the bunch.

Agreed. With 240 films already out there its gonna be too hard lol.
But I'm awesome so you shall wind up liking my posts anyway

Yes, I'm sure watching a movie you consider to be a 6/10 is going to destroy your soul.

Yes thats the problem.
I had to sleep with the hall light on for 3 days after watching The Ring lol.

Must admit, horror is not my thing. (Unless its The Thing in which case its freakin awesome) But hopefully I'll watch the movie sometime later today.

Has the 2nd film been announced yet?

The results of this Poll is pretty predictable as if any Nolan fans would allow another movie to beat out TDK in a Poll.. God forbid if this should happen...
How can one reach the late forties and be so immature. It's truly impressive.

Prince Caspian is the best of the Narnia films.

A bad independent thinker.
Oh get back to the presidents thread, fool. This is MY house.
THIS IS MY HOUSE.

I doubt even Christ Nolan thinks that
Christ Nolan can think whatever he wants (which to be fair we actually don't know what he thinks)
His views do not influence my views. Nor do anyone else's for that matter. I'm just an independent thinker like that!
Just like B&R is unquestionably superior to TDKR right?
Unquestionably superior in terrible one liners perhaps. But if thats your opinion then *pats your had*, good for you lil boy!

TDKR is unquestionably superior to TDK.

I did watch this, but am having trouble finding the time to post my thoughts so I'll simply say this for now.
I survived it. No need to leave the hall light on!
