    Ive been following this run since it started and holy crap I've been completely blown away with its performance. Never did I expect almost $55m in 11 days. I would've been happy with $60m as a final tally.

    Monday was a public holiday here so that number will be a bit inflated.

    I sometimes forget just how big Shrek 2 was. A 13.3m / 50.4m run is massive now, let alone in 2004.

    What a crazy year for Universal. They've gone from never breaking 100m OW, to smashing that with a near 150m OW, to breaking the all time opening weekend record, and now potentially the animated record which has stood for 8 years. All of this in the span of 4 months. What a year!

    After a whole run of $40m + films.in 2012, I was beginning to think maybe it is now $50m. 2013 and 2014 cleared that up for all of us.

    Aaaand you're welcome. Contributed my £16.65 to Jurassic World at the BFI IMAX yesterday. 100% worth being the most expensive movie ticket I've ever bought (only thanks to the exchange rate ).

    Its not even like Avatar is like the US where it's "only" the equivalent of about 140m more than second; it's basically double. I honestly see it staying there for at least another decade.
