Watch this movie be good and actually tie into the MCU or at least leave a window open for that. Use your logic. Contract be damned, Disney would NOT be investing money in reshoots if they did not see potential. They don't have a reason to bother (see them nuking several projects lately, from Fox), so Feige must see potential there. Also, this is supposedly a 45M film, it's going to feel very different, there apparently at one point wasn't any mention of the word mutant in the film, no average joe would know from that first trailer that the film is even in the X-Men universe, if there is a launching pad to bring the mutants in the MCU, this is it.

You know, save for the title and the fact that the first teaser had the Marvel logo..

Inb4 the sequel reveals they aren’t really blood related and the Elsanna shippers go extra crazy.

I honestly see that as a possibility but Elsanna . . . .NO

    Spoiler

I'm almost 100% convinced that's going to end up being the twist of the movie, that Elsa was adopted/taken from birth mother

Often Disney spends nothing on the sequel and it is crap. They look like they put a ton of effort into it. It also never made sense that she had powers and her sister didn't.

Yeah, but it's a fairy tale and I could see that happen in actual fairy tales and they often don't explain why things happen, they just are.

Once Upon a Time actually explained that pretty well in their Frozen season, even if that was glorified fan fiction.

That walk on water scene, my God, that was beautiful!

  4. To Me, Frozen is actually the hardest Disney movie to properly make a sequel to. It has a good beginning, a great middle and a fantastic end. It came entirely full circle. To me it's an absolute masterpiece. As a movie made for families and fans of Disney in general, it's a massive delight.

Now, a lot of Disney movies also follow the same path and got sequels to, but they all had tiny potential hooks to follow (I personally think sequels to Big Hero 6 and Zootopia are much more plausible). Frozen really didn't have one. They're going to use where she got her powers now I'm assuming, but I don't entirely think we necessarily need some massive backstory of why Elsa got her powers.  That said, I'm there day one due to my massive love of the original and the fact that the first teaser was jaw dropping and spectacular.

I'm vastly looking forward to the movie, but I'm also terrified it won't top or be equal to the original.

I'll be interested to see how long the gap is before we see MCU X-Men, I think it'll be 2024 or 2025. We'll probably the MCU Fantastic Four first.

I think they should ended the main X-Men series with Logan but now Dark Phoenix is going to be the Quest for Peace/Batman and Robin of the X-Men films.

It started with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, it should have ended with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

He's the one the moviegoers actually seem to care about, because it seems the worst performing ones are the ones where he either cameos or isn't in it (not counting Deadpool)

  6. Considering the original SLOP opened over 100 million, the fact that SLOP2 may open under 50 million is a bit of a bigger letdown to me than Godzilla last week. Sure Pet's is more financially safe, but ...........I can feel that drop.

That said, Aladdin could possibly, maybe, just maybe get close to 300 million.

  7. KOTM is far better than ID2 come on now.

KOTM actually has visually impressive action sequences while ID2 (which I kinda like) has energy-lacking action sequences. Literally the best part of it was the Big Alien with the Plasma Bazooka.

I know some people like the G14 better but that movie should have not continued the Jaws approach to Godzilla, once he popped up at the airport. That movie is also close to being a perfect Godzilla movie, BUT I think a lot of people would have liked it better if they showed the airport battle. We may not be having quite as dire box office results if that happened.

People in 2019 don't know what an actual Godzilla movie is supposed to be like, even when one has been released this week.
