    Toho Number is not the only standard. You have to take ticket price into consideration. Even Corpse predicts Conan arounf 775m~825m Yen. For any opening movie, the presale ticket price is always 1300 Yen for adults and 1000 Yen for students (The presale begins before the new tax rate takes effect) I read the Japanese forum and people say Conan avg price is 1187 ~1210 Yen. Frozen is above 1350 Yen. If you do the math, you will know Frozen is around 8.3~8.5m and Conan may not cross 8m.

    As far as I know, the cinemas have signed the contract withthe movie company such as Disney or Warner or any local ones. Sometimes, the movie such as Conan is presented by Toho or other cinema system. So, the showtimes and seats are guaranteed to some extent. This is quite different from the business model in China, where very strong movie can even get more than 50% seats in its OW.

    Hey mfantin65, I don't know if you have found something strange. Yes, Frozen has downed 30% in 109. However, I calculate the total seats of the two weeks in 109 cinemas. Last Saturday: 141416 This Saturday: 91247 Today the total seats are only 64.5 % of the seats of Last Saturday. Isn't this weird? I guess there is something wrong with the statistics...I think this report is not complete..

    What I mean is that manager gives all the big screens to Frozen on Sunday but so far I only find one theater manager does so. That is very few all over Tokyo or even Japan. I dont know if there will be more this kind of managers tomorrow..perhaps we will know it tonight.

    As far as I know, very few big screens in Tokyowill be given back to Frozen tomorrow. Perhaps the theatermanager think Frozen is especially strong on Sunday while Conan is so on the opening day.
