    Yes, as I can remember, last time when spiderman opened in Japan, it had more than 1000 screens and amazing seats number. However, OW only grossed around 6.m .. So, the point is how many people decide to watch Ftozen.

It could fail to debut on top again this year with another Disney titan, Frozen, still playing so well, but Conan has the edge over Frozen so far this morning at most locations.Ticket sales at Toho Cinemas are ahead of last year's at the same point in time, and last year's film just so happened to be the biggest opener in the franchise's history. So needless to say, this is a very encouraging sign. And with the tax hike, it "only" has to match the admissions of last year's film to exceed ¥700 million ($7 million) over the weekend. But so far admissions look stronger, so it may climb even higher.>Frozen lost most of the biggest screens to Conan, thus decreasing its seats by about 13% at Toho Cinemas, and 18% at Movix Cinemas. This marks the first time since it opened that it has lost any seats. In order to defeat Detective Conan, and claim a sixth-consecutive week atop the box-office, it'll need to avoid a drop over ~15%, so it'll be close.>Crayon Shin-chan and Captain America should also have a close battle to see which of them ranks 3rd over the weekend.     According to the current presale, Conan does a better job than Frozen because this is the OD and there are some activities held by the Conan producers...so some sellouts can be seen. Compared with last Saturday, however, there is only a slight difference in Frozen's presale. For a movie on its sixth weekend, this is really amazing.

    Well, I think Conan might perform very well on Saturday but go down a bit on Sunday , because most fans will go to the movies on the OD. Take the wind rises for example, its first Saturday was around 600m Yen but two day gross was 9.8 m...which means Sunday was only 60% of Saturday. However, for Frozen, its Sunday always outperform its Saturday.... BTW, I don't think Frozen can get some big screens back but what's more important is its average attendance...

    I don't think this weekend would be a big problem. The real challenge comes in next weekend. Some cities stop screening Frozen and I am curious that how will Disney arrange their Dubbed 3D and sing-along in the face of losing more seats.

    coz the singalong showtimes are very limited, i dont think it will have any apparent impact on boxoffice, be it successful or failed. In my opinion, 150 screens 3d dubbed would be the key factor.

    well, at least 8000 is not a small number.Actually, at least in Toho theaters in Tokyo, Frozen has more seats than Cobanin Tokyo area. Of course, Conan has more seats if we calculate the entire Japan. But this is still good news.

Conan has around 335 screens and many larger screens. In Tokyo, some biggest screens still belong to Frozen this weekend but next weekend they will be given to Roman Bath 2. However, the arrangement of the 150 screens 3D Dubbed Frozen is still unknown.

    Conan will slow down Frozen...and Roman Bath 2 is a strong challenger...spiderman also has its markets... Three of them combined can stop Frozen, I think. However, if Frozen 3D Dubbed and Singalong dubbed are all the rage... then that will be another story.
