    Stupid decision? do you live on Mars? For animated movie, especially for Disney Classic, usually are expected great sales in home video (and Frozen is doing enormous sales) and Studios plan strong marketing campaign: releasing the DVD when the focus on movie is still strong, it mean to sell a lot more, saving tons of $ in marketing. Other, It's the same 4-months "window" between cinema and home video used in all major markets.

    After 29 week in release Frozen soundtrack passes 5 millions album sold all over the world. It's the world most selled album in 2014. Regarding home video sales, data for first 4 weeks in release in North America tells that Frozen passed 10 millions of phisical disk sold: 10,690,776 units (50/50 DVD and BRD) for a gross of $188,530,977 (in cinemas $172,392,010 in the same period). Other, it is yet the 2nd most selled BRD ever here.

    I think for sure will become #1 foreign live action in season 2013/2014 (The Hobbit 2 is at €12.792.760) and #4 global behind Sole a Catinelle, Frozen and Desplicable Me 2. The first two are totally out of reach while for the 15,9M€ of DM2 there is still a 1% chanche (if Italy is out of World Cup tomorrow.....)

    Since everyone keeps talking about it continuously, I'm trying to learn as much as possible on the issue of DVD. Looking at the site Amazon Japanese i have see that actually the DVD/BR of Frozen is already # 1 bestseller a month before the release (as has been all over the world) while the BR only is #5 and 3D version is 12#. And this despite the prices are scary. With these prices and these numbers will be very likely that sales in home video (adding digital and phisical rentals) will outpace cinema grosses.
