    That would be a good guess, if only it got an extension and played through the holiday weekend next week, could have gotten much higher.

    Still a great run nonetheless for Baymax in China, no holidays, no problem! the market has come a long way for animated flicks.

    Not paying attention rest of Asia, is it doing well everywhere? I expect it to do very well in Japan and the UK, also people don't realize in everywhere outside of China there is a short film attachment of a semi sequel to Frozen Fever that must be a huge driver for box office everywhere except China.

    I agree, it is also unclear if it gets an extended run. Don't count on it, the film bureau aren't very generous with imported films this year.

    Friend in Taiwan confirms they have 3D for this movie there...

    If Hollywood Adventures snagged the June 26th date, and you think the bureau is not going to give JW any room for Dragonboat...does that mean JW delayed further deep into the Summer???!!!

    Are movies like Macau 2, Wolf Totem and Dragonblade getting beyond 1-month windows?

    Dreamworks wins this round in terms of favorable treatments...gets a Friday release AND the week before a holiday weekend. Too bad FF7 is in 3D it will help it hold more screens. Any word on Chappie and Run All Night? Gotta think Sony and WB must have tried those films at least.

    Furious 7 in 3D in China too...is it in 3D everywhere else? If memory serves me right none of the previous 6 were in 3D.

    BH6 is also doing it without any Summer or Winter holidays or any holiday weekends...just regular weekends. In fact its first Saturday was one of those anomalous work days (Feb 28th). Definitely leggy for sure!

    LOL I see a trend here indeed, gone are the days last year when X-men got lifted by Dragonboat and Cap 2 by Qingming. The bureau evolves and learns new tricks along the way too, it seems. Another trend is a huge amount of "wasted" slots early in the year, I mean, Annie an Unbroken? Of all the Press Chinese box office gets from the Hollywood trade media every week no one mentioned the disaster that was Annie (like, did it even do RMB 3 Million?).

    What's JA going to end up...fading fast. Cinderella faces two high profile openers this weekend in an Andy Lau flick (that got a lot of plugging over the CNY special on CCTV) and Taken 3, seems different enough of an offering as a fantasy/romance flick. I think Kingsman will bow big and will benefit from FF7 pushed past Qingming weekend, that one should do in excess of $50 M...hopefully the cuts aren't as bad as some say!

    Maybe HOME is being prepped for May 1st holidays? If it's not dated for now I doubt it makes the early April long weekend...

    Seems Dreamworks' "Home" is also accepted for release, but no release dates yet...can't imagine it doing well to open either after FF7 or AAoU...also I have to imagine that WB must have sent in "Run All Night" and Sony with "Chappie", there seems to be a backlog of no news building up?

    Was debating which was worse, FF7 opening on a Sunday or this on a Tuesday...got to say this one wins hands down. Pretty obvious hand though with the government there, opening these two hotly anticipated sequels on odd days of the week and both conveniently missing day-and-date with the US.

    Disney is taking like 50% of the box office share this weekend with these two...JA fading rather quickly...

    Only in China, movies open on any day of the week! Boo China, but hopefully the movie's strong enough to withstand dick moves like this.

    Also what's the outlook for Taken 3-D next weekend? I think Taken 1 did quite well I don't recall Taken 2 growing much over 1 though.

    Outlook for Cinderella this weekend? Counting out 7th Son which was ahead of the States this is the first 2015 day and date with US release?
