  1. He was also in Zero Dark Thirty, a supporting role. Moneyball is a great film, you should see it. --- Just to disagree with something posted earlier: Silver linings playbook and American Hustle were not hits solely because of Lawrence. Both were ensemble pieces. I have yet to see her sell a film solely on her name. She's no Angelina Jolie or Sandra Bullock, who are still the biggest female draws right now.
  2. The thing I remember most was that lab guy who got trapped in the car with the dino who spewed slimy stuff which blinds you. That entire sequence in the book was so much more gory.
  3. Was I the only one who thought she looked like Keira Knightley? Anyway, I loved this film, it was pure entertainment and nostalgia for me. That last sequence is so awesome. And Chris Pratt can do no wrong in my eyes.
  4. Mad Max - I got a headache while watching this. Not my cup of tea. Spy - Pleasantly surprised Jurassic World - Most fun I've had in a theater this year Definitely see Spy, that movie is so under-appreciated.
  5. I was a 90s kid and this film was so nostalgic for me. I rarely watch movies on opening weekend, let alone opening day, but I bought tickets days in advance for this. Most of my childhood friends feel the same way. I thought the movie delivered. Super corny and cringe-worthy dialogue but I don't really care because that end sequence was so worth it. And Chris Pratt is mighty fiiiine.
  6. So Gone Girl will crawl it's way to around $160M final total? Not bad, and really impressive.
  7. I loved this film but that part when Anne Hathaway had that long dialogue about love really bugged me. That was so corny. Why was Matt Damon not in the promotional materials for this film? I thought he was just a cameo, but it wasn't really. The role was bigger than Casey Affleck's.
  8. These people actually did get the part, but things didn't work out: Dougray Scott was supposed to be Wolverine (conflict in schedule with MI:2) Stuart Townsend was supposed to be Aragorn (fired before first day of filming) Annette Bening was supposed to be Catwoman in Batman Returns (she got pregnant) Original choices who turned down the parts: Rachel McAdams was first choice for Pepper Potts Hugh Jackman was the first choice for Billy Flynn (Chicago)
  9. The long wait for these two films to be released makes me think that they're not the awards contender the producers hope they will be. Grace of Monaco may be Diana 2.0. Serena was completed in 2012...what's taking so long?
  10. Serena not getting a definite release date until now makes me think it's not that good. Hasn't it been completed for a loong time now? Same with Grace of Monaco.Hilary Swank and Annette Bening both have films competing for the Palme D' Or this year. Another showdown, perhaps?
