  3. They did last year. They put out trailers for Heights and West Side Story and those didn't really grant them any favors.

  5. Well I mean it makes sense he would push for action. He played Spider-Man, he's known for being Spider-Man, so it makes sense he would go for action roles. And when actors sign on to something, they have zero clue how a movie is going to turn out. They don't have a crystal ball that will say what a movie's RT score will be. And for all the projects he chose, it makes sense why he would say yes to them. With Cherry, he gets to work with the Russos, people he's had a good experience and a friendship towards. Chaos Walking was shot in 2017 when Daisy Ridley was fresh off Star Wars and Doug Liman's had plenty of hits before despite being a madman. And he was cast in Uncharted back in 2017 before it went through a big revolving door of directors and is based off a very popular video game series that already takes inspiration from movies like Indiana Jones. It's not his fault these productions didn't pan out. As an actor, especially young ones who don't have a rep, every project is a true roll of the dice.
  6. I'll say this again, Holland's big issue is he is always typecast in boring action roles that don't fit the theater kid energy he possesses. Give him a musical or something that allows him to be goofy or out there a la his Lip Sync Battle performance and he would shine. He probably could have done Wonka okay, but of course my libido is much happier with Timothee in the part.
  7. Guys it's one dude. Don't try to jump to conclusions. Besides, Andy Signore has a history of sexual misconduct, so can we not give that loser a platform?
  8. Oh. In that case, I don't think Liam Neeson has an excuse outside of he just likes making these kinds of action movies and/or that's the only thing producers and studio execs will say yes to. But I think he will still get one or two more interesting roles that takes greater advantage of his talents
  9. Rumor has it (unconfirmed of course) that Bruce Willis, while not officially diagnosed with dementia, has been going through some bad mental and memory issues over the past couple of years that could lead into something worse. Him doing cheap VOD action movies where he shows up on set for a day and gets a fat paycheck is probably the best he can do as an actor and helps support his family. https://okmagazine.com/p/bruce-willis-truce-family-fading-on-set-memory-loss/
  10. https://deadline.com/2022/02/death-on-the-nile-previews-rack-up-1-1m-marry-me-525k-1234931651/ Hidden away in the Deadline article is that Blacklight (that Liam Neeson action movie nobody cares about #272) brought in 225K on Thursday....okay.
  11. I think they're heading for that direction. For the Oscar nominations announcement, you could watch it as it went on via a livestream on Disney+. You can still watch a replay of that livestream on Disney+. I think that means we're getting a Disney+ livestream for the Oscars this year. Still not great compared to free on YouTube or Twitter, but these are baby steps.

  13. Maybe I'll change my tune, but I don't like all the golds and yellows in Black Adam's color grading. It's not Extraction bad, but this kind of filtering really bugs me
  14. Tracking is not the same thing as data. Tracking doesn't follow pre-sales. In fact, Scott got this information on the very day tickets went on sale. How would he know what the data would be?
  15. Yeah I feel like even in the absolute best of circumstances where everything went right, Death on the Nile would only do about half of Orient Express. Everything from the source material to the cast was nowhere near as iconic or exciting as its predecessor and the last film had pretty tepid reception anyways. The hook was nonexistent.

  17. I mean Sam Neil's just hot. Even if he wasn't in the first movie, seeing a dude that's aged as well as him is an amazing selling point.
  18. The Batman Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-21 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 2 177 3605 35067 10.28% Total Seats Sold Today: 2,454 Comp 0.475x of Black Widow's Final Count (6.27M) 0.759x of Shang-Chi's Final Count (6.68M) 0.688x of Venom 2's Final Count (7.98M) 0.683x of Eternals' Final Count (6.49M) 0.320x of No Way Home's First Day of Sales (16M) Adjusted Comp 0.279x of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker T-21 (11.14M) So yeah, this is another case where a majority of comps are too small for the film and skew towards pie in the sky previews of 30M+ or 40M+. So we have to use Final Counts again, all of which should see a huge spike tomorrow night. And this kind of stuff shows that, yes, this is going to be a big deal.
