  1. Alpha 30 1257 2.39% Crazy Rich Asians (3-Day) 110 1027 10.71% Crazy Rich Asians (5-Day) 163 1595 10.22% Mile 22 43 1672 2.57% I'm on a timecrunch, so since I already did CRA a day ago, and nobody cares about Alpha... Mile 22 comps: 119% of The Foreigner (15.7M) 54% of The Commuter (7.4M) 139% of 12 Strong (21.9M) 89% of 15;17 (11.2M) 73% of Death Wish (9.5M) 72% of Skyscraper (17.8M) 17% of The Meg (7.6M)
  2. Well...yeah. It may not seem like a lot, but because a new major release came out, a couple of movies might have had their auditorium sizes and/or showtimes cut down. Stuff like M:I or Meg probably had to go to smaller auditoriums, or lose a few showtimes, which in turn does hurt their attendance and box office.
  3. If this follows We're the Millers: 6M Wednesday 4.2M Thursday (-30.5%) 7.5M Friday (+81%) 9.1M Saturday (+21%) 6.7M Sunday (-26%) 23.3M 3-Day, 33.5M 5-Day 5-year gap doesn't make it a perfect comparison, but this does seem like a good ballpark.
  4. Does that include last week's sneak previews? Regardless, still a fantastic number.
  5. Well, the good news is that new releases aren't being blacked out, since I can see Crazy Rich Asians. The bad news is that I can only choose between that or The Meg.
  6. Crazy Rich Asians (3-Day) 62 1027 6.04% Crazy Rich Asians (5-Day) 100 1595 6.27% Using the film's 5-Day against 3-Day comps (Don't know if that's a good idea, but I don't really care, so...): 125% of Game Night (21.2M) 154% of Blockers (31.6M) 64% of Life of the Party (11.4M) 111% of Book Club (15.1M) 44% of Ocean's 8 (18.2M) 27% of Mamma Mia (9.5M) 227% of Spy Who Dumped Me (27.5M) Yeah, things are looking pretty soft at my theater. Don't know if it will translate to soft results, but sadly I'm not as confident in CRA breaking out like I was a week ago.
  7. This is the second greatest casting decision made for this film. Y'all already know what the first one was.

  9. Poor you. The only movie I'm allowed to see is Mission: Impossible...yay me?
  10. At this point, outside of a few small releases and TV shows, I think TIFF, and I believe all the other fall fests sans AFI, are just about done with their film announcements. Only major contenders that haven't gotten any festival announcements so far: -Bohemian Rhapsody -Backseat/Cheney/whatever it's called -Mary Queen of Scots -On the Basis of Sex -Ad Astra -Welcome to Marwen Of course, some of these could still premiere at AFI.

  13. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/schedule/?view=bydate&release=all&date=2018-12-07&showweeks=4&p=.htm Well, BOM says it's opening on Xmas, so it's basically confirmed. @aabattery @grim22
