  4. Most Pixar movies are around the 200M budget mark. They don't do any outsourcing and they boast some of the most expensive CGI technologies out there for their movies.
  5. Here's the thing dude: I agree with you. I think it is very silly to move animated movies to streaming. But I don't work at Disney. I don't control how this stuff goes down. I'm only stating what I think Disney will do. And frankly, this seems, to me, like something Disney will do, in my personal, subjective opinion that could be wrong. Especially since Lightyear's a super expensive beast and who knows if $500 million will even happen. So yell at them, not me.
  6. Back then, people hated Batman Returns. It did decent critically, but it earned a huge backlash from a lot of people over its disturbing violent and sexual content. Parent groups and soccer moms especially thought the film was so intense and brutal that it "traumatized" their children, to the point where McDonald's had to get rid of their Happy Meal toys. This basically meant the film only did about 65% of the first Batman movie domestically, which...yeah, sequels didn't retain as much back then, but it was still a harsh fall, and is why Burton was kicked off the franchise and Batman Forever was made the way it was. Thankfully, it's a lot more well-regarded and applauded these days, mainly because Tim Burton was allowed total control, while his first Batman was a lot more exec-driven, as well as the way Catwoman and Penguin are written are amazing. Do give it a watch. I'm not gaga over the 89 film like a lot of others are, and I still think Returns is the best Batman movie.
  7. That's what I said earlier, though apparently people considered it trolling. But yeah, if this does poorly (which is already the case overseas so far), we're probably not getting another Disney animated film in theaters outside of like Frozen 3 or Zootopia 2 or whatever. If a Toy Story movie can't reach 70M (maybe even less), what hope is there for anything else?
  8. I don't go to IMAX/PLF shows, and everything about the Lightyear/Dominion sharing drives me bananas. Lightyear was specifically formatted for IMAX showings. The first of its kind for an animated movie...and yet it's only available in IMAX for like one 12:30 show per day on its opening weekend. It's so stupid, especially since the hardcore fans who wanted to see Dominion in IMAX already have at this point. It still baffles me that the major chains haven't announced any IMAX/PLF expansions, since it's clear there's tons of demand from people to see it in PLFs that isn't being supplied nearly as much as it should. Two IMAX theaters in the major multiplexes (and also two theaters for the other PLFs) would mean demand for the format is satisfied and you can show more than one movie all throughout the day instead of just this unfair sharing process.
  9. This is why we need to support this bro. This is the only way we're getting a Shrek 5. If this bombs, the world will implode upon itself
