  1. Think EC spilled some tea that Warner's marketing department has been purposely quiet and mistreating their movies this year to spite their AT&T overlords over the HBO Max stuff...not sure if that kind of pettiness is a good idea for future careers, but what do I know?
  2. Moderation Not the Brie Larson thread. And like @AJG said, there's no need to share those types of videos here, even if it's to make fun of them. These videos are garbage created by right-wing bigots who hide themselves under a fanboy personality and use geek media outrage and YouTube's garbage clickbait algorithms as a gateway to promote their racist and sexist rhetoric, mainly to naïve teenagers who don't know any better. Simply put, the best kind of attention to those cretins is no attention at all.
  3. Malignant Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-4 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 38 29 5749 0.50% Comp 0.041x of Conjuring 3 Monday Before Release (403.9K) 0.215x of Old Monday Before Release (322K) 1.450x of Reminiscence Monday Before Release (2.83M) I will forgive this movie for the moment, if only because tonight's a holiday night, so people aren't thinking about buying movie tickets and junk. But this is still pretty concerning.
  4. I was kind of down on Venom 2 even a couple weeks back, if only because the first film's marketing broke the Internet and was all over my feeds. Venom 2 still isn't anywhere on that level, but I do think buzz is starting to pick up and this is promising the schlocky fun that a good chunk of people enjoyed (I don't think WOM for the first was Suicide Squad bad tbh). They're also playing into the Venom vs. Carnage hook well as a big selling point. Guess I'll see what happens on Wednesday when tickets drop. Still down on Halloween Kills though and still predicting like 35M on its opening. The first movie's only selling point was nostalgia, which won't be a factor here, and I don't really see any big hook for this new one in the trailer. Could be wrong of course
  5. Man, that one simple date change really does give so much breathing room for October, though I guess maybe one or two movies might move to November to give more breathing room.
  6. https://deadline.com/2021/09/venom-let-there-be-carnage-release-date-change-october-1234827831/ Venom tickets launch this Wednesday everybody. Team, with Bond reportedly on the 13th, get ready for some long nights
  7. On the other hand, if your top 10 greatest films of all time had half of the same actor, specifically an actor born on December 27, 1995, that just means you're better than everybody else
  8. Next year feels so overstuffed with movies so close to one another it's insane. Guess that's what you pay when you delay everything. If we're going with a new Labor Day title, John Wick or Black Adam sound about right.
  9. No it isn't. It's going digital only in 45 days, then physical in October, and because it's a Fox movie, it's going to HBO first.
  10. Eh, I think it's crossovered to the casuals to the point where I think most know the basic plot and the bigger songs. That's enough for a musical movie to land I suppose. And I think appeal to older auds won't really matter since movies targeting 18-34 are the only ones that are landing so far this year.
  11. Honestly, Dear Evan Hansen feels like one of those movies where the people saying it will bomb are just saying it because they want it to bomb. The meltdowns and fights over this when it opens to like 25M are gonna be fun.
