  1. @Porthos (yes I know I should sleep, shut up) So using those multiples... Pikachu: 26.2 Aladdin: 22.8 KotM: 27.8 Toy Story: 18.3 Fallen Kingdom: 25.8 Well...fuck
  2. Hobbs & Shaw Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-31 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 24 13 4,976 0.26% Whatever
  3. The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-17 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 100 1,080 18,477 5.85% Because I like to harm my health, I'm still wide awake, and decided to add in a few more theaters into my algorithm, and that makes a world of difference. Two theaters in particular boosted the numbers considerably, and while it isn't rocking the boat, there's definitely a massive increase in percentage sold, which is always good. Can't wait to see what the next few days have in store.
  4. Hobbs & Shaw Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-31 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 18 8 4048 0.20% Well that's...unremarkable. This only just barely sold a couple seats at the theaters I track, and theaters aren't really paying much attention to it at the moment, with only a handful of available showtimes. Of course this is kinda lost in the conversation right now, so hopefully it'll pick up at least after Lion King drops.
  5. The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-17 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 57 592 13457 4.40% It's important to recognize a few things. A somewhat important one is that I kind of developed this at the last minute, so my theater count is relatively small (9 theaters). Maybe I'll add in more in the future to get a bigger sample, I dunno. But the big thing is that, at least right now, I don't have anything to work with when it comes to comps. I'm basically going in completely blind, so I don't know if this is good or bad. I guess at passing glance, selling close to 600 seats with more than two weeks to go is good enough? Maybe it could have been a little bit better? Really the only benefit from tracking seats sold now is for the benefit of future films.
  6. Also of note, the new Scooby-Doo cartoon that's heading to the Boomerang streaming service (yes, that exists) features Steve Urkel (yes, really) guest starring. Even Robo-Urkel is there too! Between that and a Family Matters reboot, we're close to the inevitable Jaleelaissance.
  7. Who cares about that? WarnerMedia+ already delivering the goods
  8. It's so hilarious how bad the quality drops when the pigeon stuff comes in. Like night and day.

  10. DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER CAN After Avengers: Endgame made all the money and wrapped up the Infinty Saga, the MCU looks to continue exciting and thrilling audiences with the release of Far From Home, the 23rd chapter in the never ending, but always epic MCU storyline. Tom Holland's Spider-Man has been considered one of the highlights of modern MCU, thanks to his many appearances from Civil War to Endgame, and it looks like it will continue with the follow-up to the smash hit Spider-Man: Homecoming. With Peter now in Europe and dealing with Fishbowl Gyllenhaal, the movie has already seen solid results with a 111M opening overseas, 98M of which coming from China, and people are very excited to see what Jon Watts and Tom Holland have in store. With the film promising multiverses, we should be getting new and exciting details both in this movie and for the future of the MCU as a whole, which will be very exciting for MCU nerds. And for people who want to see Spidey doing cool stuff and kick some ass, this movie promises that stuff in spades. But the real question is this: Will Far From Home dramatically increase like other MCU sequels, and cross the 400M mark, or will it just be another average performer for the MCU and do something around the 300M range? Or perhaps disappoint like the rest of the summer has and do below 300M? It’s crazy to think that less than 300M would be considered a disappointment for a movie, but it is Marvel’s world and we’re all living in it. The film is set to open at midnight tonight (remember midnight screenings?), so we’ll be getting answers fairly shortly, in this very special week long weekend (I guess?) thread! I talked to @grim22and @Water Bottle about this, and they were okay with the idea of having the weekend thread last a whole week. Basically, this is where all box office information will be dealt with for the next 7 days, including Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and weekend numbers. So @Charlie Jatinder and @sfran43, don’t worry about making new threads this week (outside of the Monday #s thread). But before we can start this...week thread, we have some rules you need to follow before you post anything. 1. ABSOLUTELY NO SPOILERS. NOT EVEN SPOILERS POSTED UNDER SPOILER TAGS. This applies to all of the following: Ambiguous posts, joke posts, links to spoilers, and leaked images or videos. This rule is applied to all weekend threads, but it's especially true for this weekend. Spider-Man: Far From Home is the follow-up to Avengers: Endgame, and promises to have dozens of twists, turns, and shocking revelations. And in that case, most people want to enjoy the movie without being spoiled by anything not revealed in the marketing. You are free to give general opinions, but try to avoid going into any further detail. This applies to every other movie in theaters. So no Midsommar spoilers, no Yesterday spoilers, and no Toy Story 4 spoilers. If you do spoil something here, you will be banned. No exceptions. Don't be a dick. If you would like to talk about the movie in more detail, click on the Far From Home spoiler thread right here. 2. KEEP YOUR AGENDA OUT OF HERE. We get it. Marvel is the greatest film series ever created and all other franchises are below it. Disney/Marvel is destroying cinema and Kevin Feige/Bob Iger/Kathleen Kennedy is the spawn of Satan. The Rise of Skywalker is gonna bomb, because Ruin Johnson destroyed the franchise. James Cameron/Avatar is the true king of the box office. Yadda yadda yadda. There's a time and place for these kinds of statements...actually, there isn't. But at the very least, it doesn't belong here. If you want to start these beefs related to all of these dumb children's movies, take it to the Fanboy Wars thread right here. If you do this kind of stuff here, you will be banned. No exceptions. So to all the people who want to go on about how “MARVEL IS AWFUL. DISNEY IS EVIL. STAR WARS IS DEAD”, don’t even fucking try. Not gonna name names, but you know who you are. Don't be a dick. 3. NO CONSPIRACY THEORIES. Every other week, we seem to have some sort of conspiracy about how critics are being bought by Disney or how the media is propping up Disney in an attempt to take down DC or Warner Bros. or something. Yeah, no. We're not gonna have this stuff here. I don't care what evidence you have. These types of posts are going to derail the thread and are basically trolling. We'll allow maybe one or two posts about a potential discrepancy between audiences or critics, or you saying you didn't like the movie or that the crowd you were with weren't into the film, or you arguing there's potential for a bad second weekend drop. But if you start repeating yourself, or said posts are inflammatory, or you start promoting the idea that there's some sort of evil conspiracy going around...you will be banned. No exceptions. Again, not naming names, but you know who you are. Don't be a dick. 4. NO POLITICS. In threads like these, politics often spring up for literally no reason. And straight up, politics just aren’t fun to talk about. So if you’re gonna say something about how Far From Home is the reason Trump won, or some bullshit...no. Don't be a dick. 5. THE REPORT AND IGNORE BUTTONS ARE YOUR FRIENDS. See a post that might be breaking the rules? DO NOT RESPOND TO IT. Just hit the Report button, give an explanation to the problem, including the context, then hit "Submit". The mods will determine the post and see if it's breaking the rules, and give out repercussions. See a poster that's consistently being annoying? Then just highlight their name, then click "Ignore User" on the pop-up. Then click on both the Posts and Quotes check box, so you don't have to see anything related to the poster you hate. It'll save lives and hopefully cause less of an uproar or infighting. While trolls are already bad, responding to them only makes it worse. So again...Don't be a dick. 6. IS OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION OKAY? Well...yes and no. We want people to stick to box office numbers as best as they can. However, there are plenty of dead periods of time with no new numbers, and other discussions will surge. This is especially true in the early days of this thread, where there aren’t any numbers to talk about. And those discussions are okay to have, so long as the off topic discussions don't go overboard. So if there's no action, and you want to talk about your favorite Nicktoons, or rank your favorite cereal, or share funny moments from Family Guy, that's totally fine. I also strongly encourage @iHeartJames to say whatever she wants with no filter whatsoever. The mods might say otherwise, but I'm allowing it. Just remember to not talk about anything controversial and remember that when the numbers come to keep those discussions down to a minimum. Keep on doing that, and it becomes a chore for many who just want to know the numbers. We will have a post immediately after this one that will focus on just the numbers always updated to the most recent estimates, but the phrase still applies. Don't. Be. A. Dick. And lastly... 7. DON'T BE A DICK. Threads lately have started to become a little too toxic. Whatever the reason may be, if you're not following any of these rules or are straight up not being nice, you're going to get the banhammer smashed onto you. Doing some concern trolling? Banned. Revealing that Mysterio kills Dumbledore? Banned. Trying to start arguments on controversial topics? Banned. Just posting something unpleasant or mean? Banned. If you're not sure if your post is nice, think to yourself this: "If I post this, will people get mad?" If so, then don't post it. And if you're unsure if you can handle being nice for one week, then, simply put, get out of here. You probably know what I'm gonna say next. TL;DR. No spoilers, no fanboy wars. Keep it nice, keep it neutral, don't attack others, and you'll be fine. If you don't do this stuff, you'll risk a threadban, a suspension, or even a permanent ban, so tread lightly. Outside of that, just have fun! And three last things... First of all, this thread will likely lean into being more domestic-focused. If you want to know about how Far From Home is doing in other countries, look at the International section of the forums right here. If you’re especially interested in China, please click right here. The international thread solely dedicated to Far From Home is also available right here. And second.... WE’RE HAVING A SALE. $5 off a month of Gold Account, Premium Account, and Silver Account! Thirdly, Here’s Kirk Deveyck, the president of all Marvel fans, hyping the people up for Far From Home #MarvelFansUNITED And now, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO LETS DO THIS SHIT
  11. I'm sure somebody else can go back farther, but compared to TLK, Toy Story 4 had 3M the Monday before release. Being only slightly behind that movie about 2+ weeks before release is very good, but I can't really extrapolate anything yet
  12. Fandango wants to be a bitch to me? Destroy all that work for no reason? Well, screw them. Starting tonight, I'm gonna do something brand spanking new. Starting tonight, I'm tracking Philadelphia. Just starting compiling up the theaters and showtimes and everything. Okay, maybe not the whole city and everything, but a good chunk of the major theaters. I'm gonna follow our God @Porthos, and do the shiz he does with Sacto, and maybe other people can track some of the major cities too. Just get at least a good chunk of the major theaters/cities, and from the ashes of Pulse, we can build a better one. With blackjack. And hookers.
  13. A Moonrise Kingdom camping ground area. It's a Small Universe, featuring Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking
