  1. Using the Monsters Inc. 3D comp again: 4.8M 4.3M 8.6M 11.6M 9.2M 38.5M 5-Day This is all garbage. This is all trash. Burn it to the ground.
  2. You’re lucky I’m at work, or else I would have hit you with a snarky Poppins gif
  3. btw can a mod pin this thread? This is a pretty important weekday thread.
  4. Using Monsters Inc. 3D as a comp (the last time a movie opened in this specific calendar configuration) Low end: 7M 6.3M 12.5M 16.9M 13.5M 56.2M total High end: 8M 7.2M 14.3M 19.3M 15.4M 64.2M total Obviously this won't have that film's holds, since this will have more upfront demand. However, this is a great start for the film, and 50M 5-Day seems like a certainty at this point.
  5. Just as a reminder, outside of a few Dolby screenings in around a hundred theaters, the East Coast has only just now started its first showtimes. Also, one of the audience reviews mentions this So...yeah. Let's just not take this RT audience score seriously like we are supposed to do.
  6. Mary Poppins (3-Day) 455 1366 33.31% Mary Poppins (5-Day) 631 2278 27.70% I'm using the 5-Day for all comparisons: 163% of Bad Moms 2 (34.6M) 87% of Coco (63.3M) 219% of Jumanji (111.6M) 356% of Greatest Showman (47.8M) 387% of Crazy Rich Asians (136.6M) 86% of Ralph Breaks the Internet (72.8M) The Disney comparisons seem the most sound and reasonable, but the mediocre sales from Pulse on Tuesday do give me pause in believing it could turn out more like the Greatest Showman comp. Let's just be optimistic and it hits around the Ralph comp.
  7. There were Dolby previews, but they were only in a couple hundred theaters, so this still makes me pause.
  8. Then why have Smith on the cover at all if he's still a work in progress? Just keep him a mystery until you have enough good VFX stuff to work with as a trailer, just keep Aladdin and Jasmine on the cover, bada boom.
  9. Will Smith said "Can't wait for y'all to see me blue." Will Smith is a fucking liar, and looks like he just got out of a Kazaam remake lmao. Also more new photos.
  10. 40/150. One thing that really helps is that it's the only major live-action tentpole coming out in its month, which will help it stand out from stuff like Toy Story and Pets. btw Dark Phoenix isn't actually real. It's an illusion.
  11. Fun fact: the dude praddling on about this BS directed Fanboys, which was produced by Kevin Spacey and distributed from the Weinstein Company. You would think the film wouldn't already be so tainted, and yet...
