  1. Beautiful Boy with weaker reviews had the better average and likely the better ending total. Chalabae. A true draw power superstar. Little Women gonna be bigger than IX at this rate.

  4. I was looking back at other Thanksgiving movies, and using Penguins of Madagascar's legs (the last animated non-sequel to open on Thanksgiving) would give Ralph about $199M, which would be slightly lower than what it's expected to land at. Maybe animated non-sequels that open on Thanksgiving are just gonna be more frontloaded than usual.
  5. Unless these tweets (and Aquaman's ) are hyperbolic, then all four of the big Christmas movies this year (Poppins, Aqua, Bumble, Spider-Verse) will have at least solid reviews. Last year, Greatest Showman's reviews were mixed and Pitch Perfect 3's were dire.
  6. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I feel like Aquaman could have opened this weekend and done great. Everything indicates that it's a quality picture, and it wouldn't have lost that many theaters when the Christmas season started, so it would still make good money during the holiday. It could have even done damage to its competition. Good WOM from the movie would have also dimmed interest in Spider-Verse and Bumblebee, even if slightly. But then again, Aquaman's supposed to open to at least 80M in its current date, so my argument is probably moot.
  7. Wow Tele can't believe you're a Gaga hater smdh
  8. Next weekend will have three new releases, including Into the Spider-Verse which is looking more and more like a 200M+ performer. Then the week after has Mary Poppins, Aquaman, and Bumblebee. The next few weeks will be pretty lively and hectic.
  9. Dang, both guys are super cute. Tell the casting director they did a great job.
  10. When he appears in Ocean's 8, the film really lost all of its momentum. He felt super shoved in, like the filmmakers were afraid the movie was too short and it needed one more threat before it ended. He's also the weakest out of all of the ensemble of Into the Woods. Still, his whole aura just comes off as douchey and annoying. Put any other actor in his work, and 9 times out of 9 it would be better. He's still better than Kimmel though. His face is the most punchable I've seen in a celebrity in a long time.
  11. It's important to remember that tonight and tomorrow Spider-Verse has preview screenings. We have no idea how much of those tickets being sold are going to those preview screenings. Still great sales tho
  12. Oh yeah, people might want to see these presales. Movie/Day Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Mortal Engines 81 71 116 124 The Mule 7 18 18 54 Spider-Verse 722 757 1365 2056 Mary Poppins 913 867 919 1067 Aquaman 1263 1101 1153 1271 Bumblebee 420 450 474 644 Second Act 0 2 1 3 Marwen 0 0 1 0
  13. Roger Ebert had The Stanton-Walsh Rule, where no movie that had either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmett Walsh could be altogether bad. The reverse of that rule would definitely have Corden in there. Who else would apply?
  14. I've only listened to Lost Things, Trip a Little Light, and Can You Imagine That so far. Don't want to totally spoil myself. But man, all three are absolutely stellar. If it weren't for I'll Never Love Again, all of these would be my favorite original songs in a movie this year. All hail Marc Shaiman.
  15. No. The Dec. 28th weekend doesn't have any wide releases, so we won't get any pieces of tracking until in a few days before the Dec. 14th offerings.
