Friday the 13th gonna Friday the 13th, but that's insane for Exorcist considering how awful reception is. To be fair, I guess it is the only horror option for many, so that does help it for a day like this. Even I was kind of tempted until I realized I knew better. -

Last I checked, the Tracking Thread has the film gunning for 30M+. Also Wolf of Wall Street's 18M is wonky to use as a comparison when it opened on a Wednesday and during Christmas, when things are more deflated. In an October release date or something, it too would have likely gunned for 30M+. -

Weirdly there's no big promo for this today. It's noon on the East Coast. By then, we would have gotten some "Tickets on sale now" blurbs from Disney/Fandango's social media pages. But it's all radio silence. I guess that will be for Monday to honor Disney 100, but then what was the point of having tickets out today? Whatever, it's not a big deal. -

Cats had been off of Broadway for nearly two decades when the Hooper film came out. You're thinking of Dear Evan Hansen. That's a very, very rare case where a movie is so wretchedly godawful that it basically tarnished any and all goodwill built up within its franchise. -

I see no reason why it wouldn't. -

The biggest problem with Broadway proshots is that most productions generally have niche fandoms, especially compared to pop stars like Swift or Beyonce. And the ones that have broken out with the GA already have successful film adaptations (Chicago, Les Miserables, West Side Story) or already have proshots available on DVD (Phantom of the Opera). So apart from Hamilton, there's not much you can really capitalize on. At least if you want something more than a Fathom Event showing. Maybe Lion King, because it's so different from the animated movies? But that's all I can really think of. -

Well with that much time to kill...who has some Taylor hot takes to share? Is me saying 1989 is her best album a hot take? Because I guess that's mine. Though Bad Blood is pretty trash. Red is a fun one too, though that is more thanks to certain singles like 22 and We Are Never Getting Back Together. -

Would basically have the same amount of attendees if prices were lowered. Concert movies like these only appeal to people who are already fans of Taylor Swift. There's nobody who isn't into Swift who would see a three-hour concert movie because tickets are cheaper. Really, this is the best outcome for Swift, since she's getting more money, clout for having one of the biggest October openings, even if it's lowkey cheating, and the studios get shit on for not paying their writers and actors properly. It's a win-win-win for the parties that matter and deserve it. (Yes I know Swift is already a multi-billionaire, so maybe she doesn't really "deserve it" lmao. But you know what I mean) -

Exorcist dropping at 66%...that has to be intentional 🤔 -
Moderation @Willowra For about 5 pages now, you have regurgitated the exact same hyperbole of "The Marvels not being called Captain Marvel 2 means Carol Danvers is irrelevant and Marvel doesn't care about her. This movie will bomb and we will never see Carol in another movie ever ever again. Carol is going to be the leader of The Avengers, meaning The Avengers movies will all bomb from now on". It has been nothing but these posts ad nauseum. It has run its course, isn't offering anything constructive to the conversation, and frankly is starting to feel like you are baiting and trolling Captain Marvel/MCU fans. If you can't think of anything else to add that you have already said before, then I don't think it's a good idea to continue posting.

Does the exact day tickets go on sale really matter? Like is anybody who is excited for The Marvels suddenly going to lose interest and not see it because tickets launched on a Monday instead of a Wednesday? I get the idea that some movies may not get sold right away due to competition from another movie, but like those people will still purchase tickets.
