  1. Sorry, but we can't allow international threads to movies that don't even have release dates yet.
  2. Moderation Not the "Is superhero fatigue real" thread. Please focus on the numbers.
  3. Moderation Just letting you know we're not doing this "hit piece" stuff. It's not cute of y'all to act like this is an "attack" over a dumb kids movie that's made by people richer than you will ever be. Nor are we going after Amber. I know this game y'all are playing and it's not cute.
  4. Taking my mom Saturday in a sold out screening, and I am unsure if I will even survive the whole show. Just seems like it's going to be a headache-inducing experience.
  5. Moderation Okay, we're done here. A lot of you are desperately twisting FlatLannister's words around, he has specifically stated he thinks 40M is only a tiny, miniscule chance, and it isn't funny anymore. Continue this conversation further and you will see a threadban.
  6. Moderation @dudalb has been threadbanned for 24 hours for blatant anti-Arab racism. Please do not use the current conflicts in the Midde East as a basis for an unrelated movie’s performance. Thank you.

  8. Agreed. However, I am at the point where I've long since given up on these movies having a future. I know, deep down, that the movies I care about are a dying breed and there's nothing we can do to change that. The studios are run by people who ate art, and audiences are the least demanding they've ever been. As we near this end of an era, we just have to enjoy the little victories and recognize there was an audience at one point, even at a time when audiences were the most repulsed at real movies...I guess? I dunno. I just know that if I say the truth and do the usual "cinema is dead", "audiences are undemanding", "nostalgic toy commercial" schtick, people will get mad at me and yell at me and hate that I dare be "doom and gloom" even though there's a bazillion reasons to be doom and gloom. Just trying to give a tiny bit of optimisim to placate others, even if, sadly, things are only going to get worse and worse and worse.
  9. At this rate, it's easier to just ignore budgets and enjoy little victories that movies like this can make okay money. These movies are being funded by capitalist, soulless conglomos who will happily lay off their employees for an easy profit and it's not like theaters will see any impact if a big hit movie makes a loss or not. I know some will cry foul, but you got to find happiness somehow.

  11. Dawg, they aren't saying it. I am. I know this is off-base, but it's just waht I've given from my own archiving and information. Besides, it'll likely land in the 50s or even 60s by the time we reach release day, so all this ribbing is meaningless.
