  1. Firepower does this song and dance all the time about how woke critics give any movie that stars somebody with an XX chromosome a pass, regardless of quality, which...yeah, says a lot to me. Oh and by the way Firepower, if you're upset that I'm holding your garbage, offensive statements accountable and think I'm being too immature, let it be known that a mature person doesn't hang around in forums or environments they don't like being in. If you're not a fan of my moderation style, you're free to go elsewhere
  2. It is in fact possible to like a movie while also thinking it should have been better or more interesting. Analysis and film criticism isn't a binary "It is good/It is bad" kind of deal.
  3. That French Dispatch PTA is a record for the year, right? This means I have more bragging rights when it comes to my beloved, right?
  4. I did a cursory glance yesterday (though I didn’t look too closely) and when you take out the Dolby showings, Soho and Antlers seemed closer than you might think. I don’t think it’s too crazy to say Antlers can reach high single digits, which would be fine for a likely cheap horror title

  6. Mah boi, we've been friends for how many years now? You know this is important to me! 😠 This is Timothee's world and we're all living in it. 🤩 I saw Dispatch last night. There was like one Old couple, then a few 30/40 somethings, and a whole group of 20somethings around my age. This definitely benefits from Wesley having young Film Twitter dorks like me on its side. Don't know if PTA has a "brand" like Anderson does, but I feel the youths are in his corner too for Licorice Pizza...maybe?
  7. Honestly for me I...don't get the PLF hype? Outside of the fact that I'm a cheapskate who doesn't like paying extra, I can watch a movie just fine even if it's in a crummy projection area. I saw Shang-Chi in IMAX and it didn't really change anything for me (though I'm aware that's probably a case of just the movie or something). And really, if you think you absolutely need to see a movie in IMAX or whatever to get out of something, I feel like that says to the movie that it can't stand on its own and that it's not entertaining unless you get some extra bells and whistles. I'm seeing Dune later today, and despite everybody saying how it must be seen in IMAX and I will miss out on so much without IMAX...I'm just going to the 2D show. If I need to see a movie in a PLF in order to like it, then it says to me maybe the movie isn't very good or holds up on its own.

Guess yesterday was a fluke. That's cool I guess.
  9. Since the release of Old, I have gotten the trailer at that, Night House, Candyman, The Suicide Squad, Malignant, Many Saints of Newark, No Time to Die, Titane, and The French Dispatch. Probably forgetting one or two times on top of that. My pain will never end.
  10. Damn straight. Stephen McKinley Henderson is the best "oh, its that guy" actor working today.
  11. @Joel M @aabattery Remember guys that if you want your list to count, you have to PM it to me. That way it's a lot easier for me to organize everything.
  12. This was truly phenomenal. Every segment has some of the most outlandish and inventive setpieces and designs Wes Anderson ever created, and the film as a whole serves as a beautiful look into journalism and storytelling that I just ate up like candy. It's a pity there's such a measured response to it, because this is an all-timer in Wesley's filmography.
  13. Anyways, while I know LOL Deadline and all that, but if Dune seriously opens this low, then Jason Kilar is going to Hell...and I can't wait to meet him there. 😈
