Very odd too, since while there were declines in other areas here in this thread, it was not more than half from yesterday. Hopefully this is just a weird fluke and things improve tomorrow, Sunday, and so on.

Hoping the momentum continues.

  4. It’s the toy you get your kids when the store is all out of Lego. (Although ironically I haven’t seen Playmobil in stores in over a decade) I actually grew up with a set or two as a tyke.
  5. This is still one of my favorite reviews of all time: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/celebritology/post/the-oogieloves-in-the-big-balloon-adventure-yeah-i-saw-it/2012/09/05/783f5dbc-f78a-11e1-8b93-c4f4ab1c8d13_blog.html
  6. At the very least, I am happy it isn't lower than Oogieloves. I want that record to stay #1 from now until the end of time.

  8. Oh that's cute. You must realize that Mickey's Law plays mind tricks on people, and while they can give other studios success, they still don't give them all the success. Joker couldn't hit 100M in its OW? Mickey's Law at work. Wonder Woman did 400M DOM but not 1B WW? Mickey's Law. SLOP and Sing did more than Zootopia and Moana DOM but less WW? Mickey's Law. Do not be fooled by the Law's trickery.
  9. I'm too lazy to find a quote right now. But hey, you can still discuss away!
  10. I'm lazy and don't want to find a funny quote for this. You can still discuss the movie I guess.
  11. Trailer's tomorrow. At the very least Reynolds' YouTube channel is on point with the campaign so far.

I thought yesterday's 194 was a fluke, and the movie was gonna come back down to Earth. But today was only slightly less than that 194. Of course, with the film so close to release, I guess this was expected, but it's still nice to see these kinds of big numbers, and we'll hopefully see even greater stuff next week and beyond.

Not great, but it's still a decent amount of tickets with good-sized increases for all three movies. We'll see if this coming weekend and the last couple of days are any better.
  14. You forgot Cats with 15-20M, and Bombshell with 7-12M. How dare you! Nah but fr, for comparison's sake, these are the Christmas 2013 openers and their 5-days (last time the calendar had this configuration): WOWS: 34.1 Walter Mitty: 25.4 47 Ronin: 20.6 Grudge Match: 13.1 Yeah, I doubt that low end for Little Women. Spies sounds about right. Gems depends on how wide it goes.
  15. LMAO I see you MGM trying to get this movie past $100,000,007

Sure, it's December now, but it's still leaps and bounds above the past couple days, and gave a substantial boost to each comp listed. Now, we finally have every movie above 20M in the comps department. For whatever reason, a lot of theaters that were only selling a handful day to day really exploded, which helped contribute significantly. It's especially impressive, because I don't feel like there was any main reason for it to. No big TV spot, no featurette. There was the cast press conference, but it wasn't trending or anything. There was Rise of the Resistance being previewed, but Florida's far away from here, so it wouldn't really excite the demographic here, would it? Either way, still great. I definitely expect the film to drop down to Earth tomorrow, but it's still a nice sign of life.
  18. Jumanji: The Next Level Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-8 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 59 120 13,812 0.87% Total Shows Added Today: 3 Total Seats Added Today: 288 Total Seats Sold Today: 7 Comp 0.805x of Maleficent 8 days before release (1.85M) 0.113x of Frozen II (965K) Adjusted Comp 0.341x of Hobbs & Shaw (1.98M) Decided to throw Joker out. The gap was getting wider and wider, and it's evident the two are playing very differently. But yeah, this was really bad. Maleficent comp got an increase, but that's not a movie whose previews you should try and replicate. I'm sure it'll pick up in the end, but I do think it's fair to have some concerns here.
