  1. When the trailer started at my showing yesterday, some teenage girl squealed when she saw the trailer (she also squealed at Fantastic Beasts and gasped when James Corden appeared)
  2. The sequel's gonna make more than Black Panther, calling it now.
  3. Ocean's 8 Sunday June 10, 2:30, 60% full Trailers: Crazy Rich Asians "Stars of Hope" Ad Bad Times at the El Royale Peppermint The Spy Who Dumped Me (Laughs) Mission: Impossible - Fallout Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! (some teenage girl squealed when they found out what it was, laughs at the two ending gags) Serenity Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Same teenage girl squealed when they found out what it was, chuckles at Fogler's character) A Star is Born People were filing in while the trailers played. Mom loved the Peppermint, Spy, Serenity, Beasts, and Star trailers. Lots of laughs. Somebody gasped when James Corden popped up for some reason. The people there seemed to enjoy it as they were walking out.
  4. Don't think this was posted yet, but runtimes and attachments for next week. Incredibles 2: 1:56 w/out credits. Attachments are Wreck-It Ralph, Christopher Robin, and Nutcracker. Tag: 1:37. Attachments unknown (Likely Crazy Rich Asians and some other random WB tentpole) Superfly: 1:50. Attachments unknown (Likely Sequelizer and Sicario)
  5. Sadly, Bernie Mac is no longer with us, so it'll probably just be Ocean's 22.

  7. ...would've been better if he exited right away, but....I guess I'll take it?
  8. I know this is only mid-day, so this stuff can very quickly change, but I'm just judging what's available now for us. Very, very good for Ocean's. About what I expected. A touch nervous about my club now. Pleased with the Swolo and Deadpool drops, even though it doesn't matter what the former film makes at this point. Hope Solo can at least cross $200M. BAE-24 WITH THE KILLER OPENING LOL Hotel Artemis
  9. https://deadline.com/2018/06/oceans-8-sandra-bullock-box-office-hereditary-hotel-artemis-1202406200/
  10. If Hereditary follows ICAN $1.3M $4.6M (including previews) $3.8M $2.6M $11M OW Might be doing my math wrong, but with WOM seemingly better, it does seem like a double digit opening is safe.
  11. @aabattery @That One Guy Finally got around to O13. O11 = O12 = O13 I think this is one of the rare trilogies where each film is consistently great. I mean, 13 is a bit too much of a course correction, and it doesn't quite go all out as 12, or have a consistent quality like 11, but I also think it has some of the best moments out of the whole franchise. Al Pacino's great, Catherine Zeta-Jones gets expanded and has a lot more fun things to do, the color scheme is super good (a lot of the single-color shots felt very Magic Mike-esque), Andy Garcia was absolutely wonderful, Casey Affleck's Mexican subplot is...weird, but pretty funny (although maybe it hasn't aged well today), and it probably has my favorite ending out of all of the movies. Only real downside is the lack of Julia Roberts. It was also through marathoning these movies that I realized what really makes all three great is just how likable and endearing the characters are. In the end, the heist stuff is probably the least interesting aspect to these films, at least for me. These really work so well because Soderbergh really allows these actors to let loose and for these characters to breathe and interact with one another. It's like a wild guys night out with your friends on a fancy vacation, being documented by a guy who is really good at summarizing the best parts of that vacation. I don't know when I'm seeing O8 (making plans to see it with Mom, but she's always busy with stuff), but I do really hope that Gary Ross is aware the heist stuff doesn't matter, but all the character interaction is what makes those movies special, at least to me. All I want to see a group of friends hang out and have fun, and if that happens, I'll be a happy camper.

  13. Hotel Artemis 37 1207 3.07% Ocean's 8 228 2323 9.81% Hotel Artemis comps: 20% of Blade Runner ($6.6M) 103% of The Foreigner ($13.5M) 46% of The Commuter ($6.3M) 119% of 12 Strong ($18.9M) 63% of Death Wish ($8.1M) With how muted the advertising is, the single digit comps are likely a much better indicator. Ocean's 8 Comps: 86% of Bad Moms Christmas ($14.5M) 86% of Orient Express ($24.7M) 136% of Pitch Perfect 3 ($27.2M) 175% of Red Sparrow ($29.5M) 146% of Life of the Party ($26.1M) 253% of Book Club ($34.4M) 🤔 To be fair, this does seem very walk-up driven, but let's hope my theater's just an outlier. And before you ask, no, my theater isn't getting Hereditary.
  14. ...honestly, he looks really weird with that giant beard on him. Also he looks less attractive with that on
  15. I for one welcome our hetero dragon relationship. Loved the trailer, would've loved it even more w/out Ed Sheeran.
