  1. Croods and Raya are having bonkers legs though. Yes there's a lack of competition, but it seems parents just want to get their kids out of the house.
  2. Don't know what capacities will be, but I feel like F9 might gross less than Quiet Place 2 domestically tbh. Feel like they haven't found a strong hook since the Han reveal and the mediocre reviews aren't really helping matters either.
  3. The forum went through a system update that caused a redesign of the forums and the normal font size to be incredibly large. If you don't like this, go to the top bar, click "Customizer", which is right next to your messages, and click "Larger Font Size for Posts?". It moves it down to a much smaller font.
  4. While I am glad Quiet Place is doing well, I don't think these day-and-date releases are going away quietly into the night. Disney mentioned they were still committed to the Premier Access idea, and Boss Baby 2 was announced for a similar strategy just a couple weeks ago. And while piracy is an issue and obviously the box office gross is lower due to this strategy, it doesn't seem to impact them that much in terms of numbers, especially when VOD and streaming revenue is compensating for some of it. Theaters won't die obviously and there will be theatrical-exclusive releases, but I sincerely doubt studios and streamers will drop this whole idea so quickly as some might think.
  5. That's really good too. 5.5x its previews, while Aladdin, though obviously it has a way bigger preview, did 4.48x. If it follows Aladdin's Sat and Sun, it would lead to a 3-day of 22.5M. But with it already holding better, it can probably reach 25M on the 3-Day. Not bad all things considered.
  6. That's about a 4.021x on the preview number. It's lower than Pirates 5's 4.285x, but that arguably had more of a family lean. If we're talking horror MD openers (which yes, aren't the easiest comparisons considering how low they are.), the Friday/Preview ratio for Brightburn was 3.159x. Either way, this is very very good, as we're about O/U 50M. We'll see if that A- Cinemascore leads to anything that will really give it a boost.
  7. Moderation @Fullbuster has been threadbanned for a month for showing a spoiler. We don't show material that wasn't revealed in a movie's marketing, especially when the movie has only been out for less than a day. Be respectful to your fellow BOT members and the filmmakers who work hard on these movies every day.

  9. To be fair, Quiet Place 2 doesn't have...well you know. If it did, it would be a whole other story. Anyways, just a reminder that while Film Twitter may not care about spoilers, we do. So remember everybody to please be careful before you post.
  10. Let me also throw it out there I still have not seen The Irishman, but I have watched all 10 episodes of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers...I'm so glad I'm in charge of the Scorsese countdown you guys.
  11. The most wretched thing this pandemic has ever caused was making James Corden even stronger
  12. Other MD comps, validity be damned: 55M 3-Day if it follows Pirates 5 38.5M if it follows This is a bit harder to pin down, but 40M should be a lock at the very least
  13. Looking at previous MD multiples (yeah I know, pandemic, years old comps, etc.) 18.3M 3-Day if it follows Aladdin 25.1M if it follows Alice 2 Could probably be a touch leggier than Aladdin due to less fan-driven demand, so 20M 3-Day isn’t totally impossible, unless PA or presales are just that much stronger of a percentage of sales these days
  14. And just to end things off, here's what I have for solo Thursday. AQP2: 1,967 tickets. 0.507x of GvK (4.92M), 0.596x of MK (5.42M) Cruella: 409 tickets.

Ultimately it does seem like it's going for high teens for the 3-day though, so that's not especially great.

And hey, this Total Friday # seems to match up with what people are saying. That's cool!
  18. @Jake Gittes You see this is why we needed this to hit October. I would have preferred November, my birthday month, but beggars can't be choosers.
