  1. Here's a funny little observation. At Marcus Theaters, Hellboy, of all movies, has "supertickets" on sale. For $20, you get to see a Thursday night screening of the movie, as well as a Funko Pop and a poster. And for whatever reason, two people already bought tickets for it.
  2. I know that being the dude who coined "Chalabae" makes me sound biased, but I feel like Little Women is primed to be a Django/American Hustle kind of performer. Great director, broad appeal, starry cast, iconic book. If it garners major Oscar consideration, it's a wrap.
  3. Even as somebody who loved Us, Baumer does have some points here. People have their own biases going into movies. We all have directors, actors, or even franchises or studios that we like more than others. And while that may not necessarily mean you will automatically like or dislike something, nor does that make your enjoyment disingenuous or a denial, you can be prone to hyperbole or excusing minor flaws or issues. I'm the resident Chalamet fanboy here, and while I was able to find things to like and enjoy in Call Me By Your Name and even Beautiful Boy, and can commend a lot of quality elements about it, I can't deny that if I wasn't as obsessed with Chalamet as I am, I probably wouldn't have gotten as much out of it as I did.
  4. We have the free trial period too, but I don't know if that means you would've been allowed to the Aquaman show. Could be wrong though
  5. That I did not know. Guess that does put things into perspective more.
  6. Just noticed that Gloria Bell managed to land into the top 10. Wasn't super into the director's A Fantastic Woman, but still pretty cool. Hopefully I'll get around to seeing this pretty soon
  7. It's kinda hard to compare those other movies, as Shazam had 2/3 preview screenings, while the rest of those movies had only one IIRC. But I guess it's fine? Maybe it should've done a bit better considering the extra showtimes?
  8. I genuinely loved how little was shown in the actual trailers. Almost the entirety of the second half was completely absent from marketing. The Shazam family bit was such a surprise that it actually got a big ol' smile on my face. It also made me laugh at how hard they tried to hide the fact Henry Cavill was not in that Superman costume. Wasn't really into Mark Strong though, but these Marvel and DC villains are typically boring, so imma let it slide Also, lol at the caterpillar dude. Have no idea who that guy is supposed to be, but I got a laugh out of it.
  9. This is also why I'll always respect the Rocky movies and Shaymalan joints. Those homies know how to represent
  10. Like I know the reason why. It just got some good laughs out of me
  11. I was on a SEPTA train earlier this morning. The fact the movie's SEPTA logo is so off from the current version gave me so much anxiety.
  12. That was the one thing that confused me since it was greenlit. Who is the audience for this? Kids today don't know who Dora is, the teens and young adults who grew up with Dora aren't gonna care. Adults will think this looks silly and cheap. There's like nothing interesting to any demographic.
  13. It was filmed in Toronto, but it’s set in Philadelphia. They even threw in a cheesesteak joke!
  14. Also for @Nova outside of some establishing and skyline shots, this is so obviously not filmed in Philly. It’s kinda funny at points
  15. It’s good. I’d even throw in a dang before it. It has plenty of issues found in just about every Marvel and DC movie (yes both), but has a solid charm and flair that makes it transcend those issues. Levi in particular kills it every time he is on screen. Never seen any of Samberg’s horror movies, and while this isn’t super dark, there’s still a good amount of edge to it.
