  2. Not seeing Romulus until later today. Also haven't seen any Terminator movie past 2. So... 1. Prey 2. Alien 3 3. Predators I'm going to assume Romulus will join the group here, because Predators is only just okay in my book.
  3. Will say that I was always skeptical over the 50M/60M projections people were making for Romulus. Alien has always been a niche, fan-driven property, and there was little I saw in the marketing that helped make it crossover to non-fans. But I mean, 40M+ is still a great result for a franchise that just hit its lowest financial point a few years ago and peaked back in the 80s. Plus the soft reboot and clean slate approach will probably help a potential sequel and the franchise in general going forward. I don't think Disney needs to fret here.
  4. Moderation @ZattMurdock @Cmasterclay Enough to the both of you. End this now, or threadbans will come your way.
  5. I don’t think anybody is saying they wish the movie was worse? Just saying why the movie didn’t do well financially and the reasons for it. And I think we are allowed to give our reasons without some sort of “gee that movie sure was great” comment
  6. I was in the same boat, but to be fair horror does go a long way in getting nonwhite appeal. Like Halloween Ends had more Latino (36%) than Caucasian (33%). Although Kills had more Caucasian (38%) than Latino (33%). The recent Exorcist movie also had more Latino (41%) than Caucasian (30%). Just wanted to throw that out there.
  7. To be fair, the first four movies had Sigourney Weaver, who is just as, if not more synonymous with Alien than the xenomorphs. And even with Prometheus, Michael Fassbender was all over the advertising, and he was fresh off both Inglorious Basterds and X-Men at the time. I think it was fair to say a cast full of no-name actors for a franchise that always had at least one recurring and popular actor could have been trouble. Especially since said franchise hasn't had a big crowdpleaser success since the Reagan administration. But I guess Clay and I were wrong.
  8. She actually didn't intend to make that final shot. She just got it in because she's that fucking awesome.
  9. My shift starts at 3:30 in the morning. I can’t go to sleep.
  10. Moderation We don’t need this hyperbole. The movie is t bombing because there was no kiss, we don’t need to insult Gen Z, not everybody is into romance. We’re done with all this.

  13. Looked like any other "rich people amirite" movie from the trailer I saw, but glad to see it's getting good reviews. I'll try to check it out when I can.
  14. Love the implication Lionsgate will even last until 2029.

  16. Metacritic is 63 from 17 reviews. Scanning through, it definitely reads like how Disney would do an Alien movie alright. For better or for worse.
