Yeah we're long past the whole "straight to video/streaming = bad" concept from like a decade ago. Even disregarding their actual critical reception, I doubt anybody was like "golly gee wiz, that Luca movie sure looks good. But uh-oh, it's only on Disney+, I guess it's pure garbage". The bigger issue for Lightyear (and all their animated movies from now on) though is that I think a lot of families and audiences would rather just wait a month or two for it to be on Disney+. Encanto made a bigger splash on streaming because people would have rather waited to see it for free instead of paying money for the theater. I thought this would be an issue even pre-pandemic, but after all that's happened these past couple years, this only solidifies Disney's animated movies as "we'll wait for them" events.

@katnisscinnaplex Jackass Forever is the perfect comp for Bob's Burgers IMO. Both are male-centric movies based on cult, male-centric TV shows. Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is also a good pick too IMO
