    Hopefully it can leg it out for a total between 400-450 its got another 50m in China Like 60-70 domestic(hopefully legs are good to make more) Thats 290-310 right there. Can it get another 90-110 for at least 400? I think so... legs in Japan might get it another 30 so that cuts it drastically to all other markets needing 60-80. I think we can get that but will need some leg help.

    China and Japan aren’t SAVING the film, but it speaks volumes that it’s doing GREAT in Japan. It shows to me that they, and fans loved the film... in that case a good GODZILLA film...nothing more.

    Shin Godzilla made 75m in 2016. So with that and this run by KotM, Godzilla is definitely back on the map in Japan. Monsterverse might be done after GvsKong, but Godzilla will be back in its home country again with a slew of movies I’m sure. “World of Godzilla” is what Toho will call it.

    KotM is killing it in Japan again on Sunday.. even after discount day. Could be looking at 40m+ there!

    G14 made 31-32 in the end there. It’s doing around 9m there this weekend. My crowd loved the film. Dude, if you hated G14 you’ll love this. You’re probably going to be confused as hell why it’s not doing well when you walk out. Tag me when you have your thoughts. i think it’s been obvious Toho has some ambitious plans after 2020.

    Man... at least we’re getting that film. Our answers to whether they’d continue after GvsKong has been answered. Cant wait to see what Toho has in store after 2020. @Bishop54 you see that it’s actually killing it in Japan? Possible 40m in the making.

    I know we’ve had are discussions over G14 in past years, but I think you would admit this is unexpected. Could G14 have left THAT bad of a impression? also, have you watched the film? A Godzilla fans dream really.

    Yeah THROUGH Friday OS total minus China and Japan is 28m. looks like Thursday was adjusted up to 16.8.

    70m china 9 japan 45-50 domestic would need roughly 65-70m from other territories to get to 200m global start. It’s got roughly 25-30 in the bag now.... needs 35-40 from these territories next two days. Not impossible but will be tough.

    Roughly 30m through Saturday minus China. Only markets it’s doing good in are China and Japan(great Saturday). still has a shot at a 200 global debut... 70 China... 9 Japan... 45-50 domestic... would need roughly 65-70 from other markets(has roughly 25-30 in the bag now through Friday).. still two days to track

    Godzilla is currently around 53m in China. Has a shot at 70m+ there for the weekend. KotM grossed a healthy amount in Japan. Should be roughly around 9m for the weekend there. If @Menorpulse update holds for today, we’ll be around 38m... with a decent Sunday hold it could still do over 50m... maybe decent WOM coming to save it? Anyway just wanted to throw out some positives for the film after some heartbreak for the franchise.

    Well I love the fact it has a shot at 70m+ in China. Japan will probably be around 9m after Sunday... let’s just say 80m between those two to be optimistic. 45-50 is the domestic optimism right now.... so that’s 125-130 between the big 3. Can it get 70-75 from all other territories for the entire weekend to get to 200m global start? I would flipping hope so.

    I’m in the same boat.. the experience of my showing was fantastic last night. People were CLAPPING at the end. Confused is a great word because the film is really just a non stop popcorn ride... perfect for the summer. All we we can hope is that the people who enjoyed it push others to watch today and Sunday.....

    That’s actually a good thing? If I’m reading that correctly, LP should be getting more $ back from it than traditional Hollywood films.

    The talks about pushing back GvsKong and reshooting etc won’t happen. Filming is done and they’ve been in post production for awhile now. Probably a lot of uneasiness around there though.
