Absolutely agree - this is my favorite Woody Allen movie - love everything about it

Is this strong?
A little higher than Jurassic World in local currency, though behind Terminator: Genisys, and way behind Ultron, and Furious 7. Good numbers

Rogue Nation made over $150M in its first weekend of global release in late July. Internationally, it has grossed franchise-breaking numbers in Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, India, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Sweden, Turkey, Indonesia, Poland and Hong Kong.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation grossed $9.4 million (-39%) from 64 overseas territories this frame, bringing the international cume to $328.7 million and the worldwide total to$511.187 million. Top holdovers include France ($1.4M/$18.4M cume), Japan ($1.3M/$36.1M cume), Germany ($980K/$12.4M cume), UK/Ireland ($820K/$31.2M cume), and Brazil ($700K/$8.8M cume).
Rogue Nation opens in its final territory China on Tuesday. The film had its premiere in Shanghai on Saturday with Tom Cruise, co-star Rebecca Ferguson and director Christopher McQuarrie in attendance. Cruise also met with Alibaba CEO Jack Ma whose Alibaba Pictures co-financed Rogue Nation. The film should be on the same level as this summer’s blockbusters Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World and early predictions are saying $200M+ is possible.

Those numbers seem to be the same as the chart from last week

Love It - watched it a million times by now & will probably watch it a million more - I just love it!! I graduated high school in the early 80s - this was usually how kids were defined - Stoners. Jocks. Nerds, etc. - but it was not so severe that you were just stuck with your group - we did intermingle. John Hughes teen movies all seem to focus on this aspect of adolescent.

The book is over a thousand pages long. I'm wondering why Cary thought they needed his childhood memories to flesh out the characters or plot line Oh yeah -- he needed to update it. Still, the studio ideas on the other end sound less promising
The best parts of the book & miniseries are when they are children - take that out of the movie & what exactly is left?? I loved the fact that these misfit children found each other & together they could conquer Pennywise & the bullies. Just sounds like a complete mess so far!

I think mine was 3.5m so not much better.
I'm sorry I doubted you Bob! It's also based on a great book that's rather popular so it looks like it's fans came out. It's a shame that Redford couldn't get financing for this before Newman became ill.
That is a shame cause I know they were always looking for something to do again together - great pair!! I do like Nick Nolte though - curious to see how they play off each other.

My son loved the movie so me & my husband watched - we really enjoyed it - glad they are making another one. Loved that red & black Chevelle he stole - to me nothing compares to American Muscle!!

ROFL at this epic Anne Rice turnaround on Cruise's casting as Lestat: http://www.angelfire.com/ri/cerat/AnneOnTom.html
Oh I agreed with her - I was furious when Tom was cast but he nailed that part - he was the Lestat I pictured when reading the books - never doubted his acting chops again!!

Hemsworth is just too.muscular, muscular guys are gross
I don't see that at all - it's not like he's built like Arnold in Pumping Iron - I considered that too muscular. Sorry but none of those guys you posted do anything for me!!

Elba's 2009 movie Obsessed (which starred Beyonce and Ali Larter as the Psycho lady) seems to be getting a remake in next year's Unforgettable with Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl as the psycho
That 's just a remake of the Betty Broderick movie - me & my sister watch that all the time - crazy woman!!

This movie is never coming to your theater.
Harvey is doing a limited release in December in LA and NYC and it is going on to Amazon a couple months after.
Totally abandoning it.
That really sucks - was looking forward to seeing this in the theater

its not doing franchise best everywhere. Even Korea it has dropped form MI4. OS minus China below MI4 is definitely not great considering how much the OS markets have expanded. Just look at how some of the recent blockbusters like Furious 7, Jurassic World or Minions did. Minions increased quite a bit despite having way worse exchange rate than DM2.
That said I am not saying numbers are bad. Just that legs have been unimpressive and some of the key growth markets in Latin America have ignored this franchise despite generally supporting action movies.
You do realize that the 2 films MI5 went up against in South Korea were monsters at the box office right? The fact that this film grossed $40 M against them is pretty good actually IMO. I think you are also forgetting that MI4 was a holiday movie - those have legs forever if they are good! As for FF7 - that was all Paul Walker & nobody will convince me otherwise. Jurassic World, having just seen it I honestly have no idea why that is making so much bank - I found it rather ridiculous but obviously the rest of the world doesn't think so. Latin America - they have different taste is all I can say but yes they don't seem to flock to Tom's movies. I honestly don't get the complaining - it's not like it is bombing around the world. I think some people just like to complain or be disappointed - I'm not one of them.
